Mitel Software Applications / Re: Skype for Business plugin
« on: April 06, 2016, 10:24:20 AM »
Have not played with the plugin.  Can you post a link as to where to download?

I have found that integration between MiCollab and Office got sticky once we went to Office 2013 via 365.  As a crude workaround, I would go into Windows Programs and Features and change the Micollab installation so that there was no integration with anything, including office.  All red X's.

I'm not sure how that would affect the plug in, but it's something you might want to play with.

Just to add my 2 cents, my Mitel techs tell me there is a known issue with Office 365 and older firmwares on the 5000.  Do you know what version is running on your 5000?  If it's several years old, you may need to get it up to date.  I'm not sure if this detail was mentioned in this string.  Good luck.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MiCollab conflict with Office 2016

Ok.  I have a work around.  The problem is MiCollab integration with Outlook.  If you go to Programs and Features in Windows 7 and select the MiCollab client, you can chose a "change" in the setup of the program.  You can redX the Outlook Extensions feature and commit the change (best to exit MiCollab first).

Then, restart MiCollab and no more error.  Since this error didn't happen with Outlook 2010 or 2013, this would indicate an incompatibility with Outlook 2016.  This is not a feature we use anyway...not sure if anyone really does.

Good suggestion.  Wish it had worked.  I did have Visio 2010 on my laptop.  I immediately uninstalled at your suggestion.  Still happens.  There might be other legacy code on my laptop that I'll need to look for.

This kind of problem can stop a roll out in it's tracks.

Just wondering, is this a Mitel Issue?  Or is it a Sonicwall issue?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab conflict with Office 2016
« on: October 13, 2015, 11:31:19 AM »
I recently upgraded to Office 365 / 2016.  When MiCollab Client logs in, an error displays:  “The operating system is not presently configured to run this application”

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office 365 as well as the MiCollab Client.  This does not happen on every machine I’ve done this on - which is good because that would be a disaster and prevent a 365 rollout.  But I would like to know how to eliminate the error, if possible.

Any thoughts?  I may need to uninstall my Visio 2010 presence, and possibly try a new Outlook profile if this is connected to Outlook somehow.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Audio Web Conferencing
« on: October 12, 2015, 12:01:10 PM »
We use the Mitel Solution and have 8 lines dedicated to it.  So it's only useful for small calls, but I like it a lot.  I also like it's easy screen sharing capabilities when I'm on the phone with someone in the office and I need to see their screen.

Anything more than that, we either use Conference Group or ReadyTalk.

If the user in question has a camera, then the call can be easily turned into a Video call - but as nice as that is, it doesn't happen often.  I have not played with the UC360 device.  My impression of it is that it's a "Room Specific" solution.  I just have cheap analog Polycoms in our conference rooms set as analog lines to our 5000.  Easy.

Hope this helps.

Mitel Software Applications / Two new MiCollab Clients?
« on: October 05, 2015, 12:52:56 PM »
The Android Play Store has two new Android Clients with the same name.  The grey icon'd one is the latest UCA upgrade.  The new Blue one requires an "authorization code" so I'm not sure if it can be used with our present MiCollab server.

Anyone know about these new apps?

I meant another physical phone.  But you've answered that you don't have one.  My thinking is that if you have the same result with a different phone, then the issue is in the programming.  If you have the desired result with a different phone, then the issue is with the previous phone.  That's all the ideas I have to offer at this point.

What happens if you swap the phone?

Thanks for the heads up.  I assume that you addressed this by right-clicking on the VM messages and selecting something that directed the message into your main inbox?  The junk mail version of this is "not junk" I believe.

I'm rolling out Office 365 proplus (software only) and then migrating to Enterprise next year - so this is good to know.

Also, can you comment on MiCollab and Lync/Skype for Business integration?   Did you attempt that?

I think there are some handsets with really far ranges.  But, if not, then I would suggest using the DEE feature to twin the desk phone to a cell phone.  The two phones will ring nearly simultaneously and the person in question will be able to use his/her cell phone instead of the desk phone.

Sorry to say that I basically forgot about it and I don't think it has happened since.

He said that an external call coming into an extension twinned with a mobile phone is seen by the system as an abandon call - probably because of lack of noise.  He also demonstrated that that timer section is sortable by columns.  So you can sort by number and look for 10 - and that was the only thing that had 10 minutes.

I know that answer may not have all the details you're looking for, but I willing to just accept it - especially since it seemed to resolve the issue on the first test.

Hope this helps.

I put in a ticket with Mitel and I shared my screen with them and it was indeed the Abandon Call Timer.  We changed it from 10 Minutes to 120.  The call actually dropped while I was with the tech!  I was away from my desk when I took the call on my cell.  So, we initiated another call and went past 11 minutes and determined that we fixed it.
