Title: Show the number the caller called
Post by: billz0r on August 12, 2021, 02:49:29 AM
Hi everyone,

We have a client with a MVB system running as a virtual machine on prem.
They have a 100 number range and want 1 of those numbers to be advertised publicly for a new business venture they're starting. The inbound routing I can do however when a caller calls the advertised number they need to know that the caller rung the other business so they can answer the call appropriately. Is this possible to show something on the screen of the phone of the number they called. They use Mitel 69XX series phones (6920, 6930 and 6940).

You could send it to a phantom extension that is forwarded, Display will say from XXXX depending upon programming. You could also use a nametag hunt group, or ring group as the destination. Nametag will screw up any voicemail unless you always want the original number. i.e. if going back to a chance to dial anyone else, it will always have the same number and will not go to the destination voice mailbox

Multicall key on each handset is another option - has to be pressed specifically to answer that call, so the callee will know who is was to.
