Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Remote Directory issues SDS v4.2
« on: September 03, 2012, 12:22:47 PM »
Hi,

I have a situation where one of my 17 clustered 3300's believes that a HotDesk User eg 1111 is in the remote directory of controller X. All other controllers believe it exists on controller Y - the correct one.

1) I have tried adding user to controller Y and that works and is dialable from all controllers except X.

2) If I goto controller X and and remove from telephone the directory entry for 1111 it deletes it from directory but keeps a blank entry in the remote directorty.

Long story but someone messed up.

My question is, If I do a backup of controller X whilst their is a blank entry in the Remote Directory and then do a restore will it restore the blank entry?

Cheers

Mitel Software Applications / Nupoint 4.2 (14.2.2.15-01)
« on: July 30, 2012, 11:18:11 AM »
Recently upgraded Nupoint to the version above and for some reason the disc was filling up very quickly. Upon investigation it appears that the message log is generating about 60GB of messages per week most filled with the following:-
root@nupoint log]#  tail messages.20120729011203 Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear<2>srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint last message repeated 61 times Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear<2>srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after t<2>srr(14615): oops <2>srr<2>srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to cl<2>srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint kernel: srr(14615): oops - Signal pending even after trying to clear Jul 30 16:09:40 nupoint last message repeated 57 times

Anyone seen this before?

Any help appreciated.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 MCD 4.2 ISDN ALARM.
« on: July 18, 2012, 01:11:10 PM »
Hi,

I'm seeing the following error in my logs when I busy and RTS.

MTSTMAP: The PBX is sending state map information for link 1. Please deprogram it.

Anyone know what that means and how to rectify it.

If I look further down the logs when I unplug the ISDN I get the following as I would expect.

Layer 1 RED alarm ACTIVE
D-channel forced DOWN!-
MC269CA Universal E1 at location 07 1 03 01 Type of diagnostics : Background Scope of report : Hybrid Reason(s) for report: - Synchronization : Absent

Then when I plug it back in I get.

MC269CA Universal E1 at location 07 1 03 01 Type of diagnostics : Background Scope of report : Hybrid Reason(s) for report: - Synchronization : Present
D-channel is UP.

But now traffic is passing over and the 3300 Alarms that 1 digital Link (this one) is unavailable.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I have cluster of approximately 13 Mxe controllers all running V9.0 except 1 which is running V4.0 (needed 5320 IP phone support) in classic mode so that it was compatible with OPS man and the existing controllers. (used to have 62 controllers in the cluster due to Analogue provision - all hail SIP).

We were unable to migrate all the nodes to V4 due to having a large number of MX and <512Mb CX controllers in the cluster.

So my questions are:-
Can I change the existing V4.0 to run in CDM mode as we are preparing to upgrade the existing controllers?

If not
Would I be better upgrading them all to V4.0 classic then move them to v4.2 CDM at a later date?
Does V4.2 still support the use of classic and OPS Manager?
What would be the implications when we move to V5, would classic mode still be supported?

A lot of questions I know but looking for any experiences or advice as this is due to happen within the next couple of weeks?

Mitel Software Applications / vMAS Nupoint 4.1

Anyone know what the maximum number of mailboxes vMAS can support I seem to remember someone telling me its only 1000.

Whilst trying to move some licenses between 2 systems (both are Enterprise systems on MXe one CX) on the AMC i encountered the following error.

Activation of this product will exceed the maximum number of licenses for this application record.

The CX has a 1x3300 ICP: Integrated S/W 64 Devices (but has 69 devices configured) applied to its record but I was under the impression that this limitation didn't exist for upgraded Enterprise systems.

Was I misled?

Hi guys and gals?

I have 58(don't ask) ICP3300 controllers v9UR3 fully clustered. We have Enterprise / OPS Mangler
Due to the complexity of this scenario we are attempting to rationalise to about 12. Is there a way of moving all users from one element to another preserving ALL key apperances etc. Without having to do it one by one in OPS man?

Looking at SCHEDMAC it appears that we can only do a DELETE followed by an ADD (there's no MOVE action).

Anyone done this and found a quick way to achieve?

Good for TOIL bad for family life.

Mitel Software Applications / Unknown Caller on Nupoint
« on: February 25, 2011, 11:13:41 AM »
Hi guys,

I have Nupoint 4.1 installed and have enabled UM-SMTP (the free one!). When someone leaves a message I recieve an email from "Unknown Caller [non-mail-user@abcdefg.gov.uk]" for example. Also in Subject field "Voice Message from Unknown Caller". Have enabled FCOS bits 262 and 263.

Will this ever work or am I overlooking something?

Cheers

Mitel Software Applications / Nupoint 4.1 and UM-SMTP (outside callers)
« on: January 24, 2011, 07:45:24 AM »
Hi,

We have a Nupoint 4.1 system with UM-SMTP enabled. Is there a way of getting the CLI of the outside caller put into the from field when UM-SMTP emails the message?

Is this at all possible as I can't seem to find any FCOS bits that relate to this?

Cheers

Mitel Software Applications / Nupoint "Root user/password disappeared"
« on: January 18, 2011, 10:46:22 AM »
Hi,

After a recent upgrade to our nupoint server from version 3 to version 4. I can no longer log in as the root user even at the console the error logs report this:-

Jan 18 15:08:09 nupoint esmith::event[4365]: adjust-services=action|Event|email-update|Action|adjust-services|Start|1295363289 119700|End|1295363289 897145|Elapsed|0.777445
Jan 18 15:43:04 nupoint sshd: pam_ldap: error trying to bind as user "uid=root,ou=Users,dc=oldham,dc=gov,dc=uk" (Invalid credentials)

I remember reading something somewhere that I could recreate/restore the root user using the MSL disk. Has anyone done this and if so have any pointers? Or do I need to boot into single user mode and do it the old fashioned way?

Cheers
