Title: Mitel 5312 & Loudspeaker
Post by: jjgith on July 11, 2016, 11:50:15 AM
Hello everyone,

So my company uses a the 5312 Mitel phones.  We have it set up so we can dial an extension and page all phones in cases of emergencies and whatnot.  There's a large open room that only has one phone up on a pole that just isn't loud enough to alert everyone.  I was looking for a way to hook up external speakers to it to boost the volume but everything i've found says that's not possible.

So, anyone have any ideas of the best or proper way to accomplish this?

Thanks,

John

Sure... using a self-amplified speaker, such as a Valcom V-1030C and a 24v power supply or something like a Viking M2W kit. You open the phone and cut or half-tap the speaker leads and run them out to the audio input of the speaker and connect the power... It will void the warranty of the device but it works quite effectively as long as no one turns the volume on the phone way down.

Fixed it for you... I made the assumption that was what you meant for my previous answer, although that answer works for most phone systems and digital or IP phones. I've been using that solution for 20 years.
