Hi,
our mitel system unable to do the external conference call, but internal conference is working fine. Is there any option i need to enable it?
-
Under system options you need to change the number of external trunks in a conference. You also need to verify the COS.
-
Just to jump in on this and expand a bit for people stumbling on the thread:
You can have up to 8 people in a conference with the following options available via the System Options form:
How many CO trunks in a conference - Max=8 Default=1
How many Parties in a Conference - Max=8 Default =5
Maximum Trunks of any type in a Conference - Max= Default=4

thanks, all .. It works

Hi Ralph,
Can we add more than 8 (on the Max) or this is the System limitation? Is there a way to accommodate 15 people in a conference? How to do it? Can you please share?
-
No. Sorry, there isn't.
You'll need to switch to an external service or add a MiCollab server.

Thanks for the quick reply. Correct me with this, every Micollab server has max 8 callers only? How do I switch into an external switch and add a Micollab server? Need guidance as I am a noob with mitel systems.

MiCollab AWV ports are based upon number of MiCollab users. The default I think is 10. If required more can be purchased

Do we need to configure it after purchase or the vendor will configure it for us?

I ran into this issue today. I am so grateful for this forum. Before I start to somewhat answer javaman34's question and ask my own. I just want to put it out there that I hate Mitel's configuration/administration menus. They don't make it easy, you almost have to be an expert.
javaman34, you can attempt to configure it yourself or get a dealer to help you. Usually a dealer tech will configure this for you. Here is a link I found that may help you http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=12132.0 . Essentially you have to create links (extensions) between your MAS (Mitel Application Server, AWV) and your controller. This will allow the 3300 controller to access the additional resource (audio/video conferencing) on the MAS server.
My issue is I had a conference call that maxed out one extension (8 max I think), additional callers were not directed to the next (hunt) extension. It gave them the "busy" message when they called the first extension. Whey is this happening? Where can I check?
I only have 2 licensed sip channels on the 3300(the default). Does the configured AWV use these channels?

You can only have one AWV Hunt Group provisioned for MiCollab conferencing calling I believe. Your wording is a bit confusing as if you set up the AWV Conferencing it's not additional beyond the 8 to use but you would use the AWV pilot extension instead.

Thank for looking at this NEPhoneGuy.
I am a bit confuse myself. Maybe this question may clear up my confusion. On my 3300, I have ext 1750 to 1762 allocated for AWV. I had 12 people in the conference. The 13th caller was not able to join via phone from internal nor external. When I tried to join the conference call by dialing extension 1750 it gave me a busy signal.
My license:
audio = 22 ports
web/video = 13 ports
enchance video = 0 ports
users = 10000 users
When I have three participants on a conference do they use up extensions 1750 to 1752 ?
-
Are all 13 programmed on AWV? You can do a locate feature extension and see if all show logged in

Is 1750 an extension in the group or the driving number for the group?

Thanks johnp and NEPhoneGuy.
Ahh 1750 is the hunt group.
The number refers to a Hunt Group.

Is this why I was limited to 12 participants, because I only had 12 sip extensions setup for AWV?

That would be my take on it.
-
You can verify under licensing in AWV how many ports you have. With UCC adding more can increase the number and you may have more than programmed.
-
My AWV license:
audio = 22 ports
web/video = 13 ports
enchance video = 0 ports
users = 10000 users
Trying to figure out how many participants I can have with these numbers is impossible. Is there a chart? I'm assuming I can get 22 participants on 1 conference call?
-
I think I just answered my question. So I can do 22 calls per conference base on audio license. I will add more sip extensions on the 3300 and update the "Configure SIP Server" on AWV. Thanks guys.
-
Is that from AWV licensing?
-
Yes.
