Title: Phones stuck on ICP & Set when rebooted?
Post by: armstr_a on October 12, 2012, 07:39:57 AM
I've added phones back on our network that were last on around a year ago. No additional phones than what has been setup int he past. I noticed a user had a phone issue when looking at the phone it was stuck on the SET and ICP IP address screen on boot. When i rebooted a phone that was working that too then got stuck on the ICP SET display.
The phone system is a Mitel 3300 and the handsets are 5312's. Any idea what can be causing this?

Thanks in advance

Is it only a problem with 5312 sets?   Or are other models having issues too?

Hi Ralph,

We only have 5312 and 5324 handsets onsite but can confirm it is every phone.

Basically if a phone that has been in use since this morning and has been working fine and gets unplugged and reconnected it seems to hang on the boot screen it set - 192.168.0.xx and ICP 192.168.0.xx
So currently i dare not touch any more working phones else will have the same issue. Any new phones i want to setup (that have been used in the past just removed when staff have left etc..) they all hang at the same screen. Its as though a MAC address or DHCP limit?

Thanks for your help.

If you're not using the Mitel as the DHCP server reset what ever server is.
Review this doc:  www.mitelforums.com/articles/option-128-missing.php (http://www.mitelforums.com/articles/option-128-missing.php)

If you're using an external DHCP server for the data vlan and the PBX for the voice vlan, be sure that the data switch connected to your
external DHCP server is NOT in trunk mode.  It needs to be in access mode.
