Title: Mitel 3300 Hard disk size
Post by: ralph on February 08, 2012, 09:14:30 AM
I have a 3300 controller with a failing mirrored hard drive.
Version 4.0.
Is there a way to check remotely tell if it has a 40g or an 80g drive?

at the vxworks level you can try ataShow

that might give you the info you need..  not sure how the RAID controller will respond back since it looks like one drive to the ICP..   i do know that mix and matchinbg branbds and models of Hard drives definitely makes the RAID controller upset..  If I cannot an exact duplicate of a drive, I replace both of them..

Im pretty sure the answer to this is no, I have asked the question of Mitel before and from memory the answer was visual inspection only.

Just wanted to let people know that ataShow does work and shows you the model number of the drive so you can work out the size from that

Does it's size matter? The model must be exactly the same for RAID controller, and finding 40/80GB drives is tough. We just buy 250GB drives and use those either replace in singles or pairs, they are cheap and plentiful. Most Micro Center stores have 20+ on the shelf or you can order them.
