Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: MiCollab Server (MAS) - NTP sync
« on: August 10, 2018, 10:44:55 AM »
I just ran a "nc -uzv <NTP servername> 123" command from the MAS console and received a "Connection to <ntp name> 123 port [udp/ntp] succeeded!" Attempted via IP address with the same results.

Hello VinceWhirlwind,

the answer to your questions are yes to resolving the NTP server by name but I have tried using the IP address with the same results as well.  As far as the UDP port question, my assumption is yes to this also as there are no firewalls limiting access between the MAS server and the NTP server.  Querying the NTP server from the MAS gui returns continuous "YYYYY" in the reach column.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MiCollab Server (MAS) - NTP sync
« on: August 09, 2018, 11:03:58 AM »
I recently started having problems with NTP sync on my MiCollab 7.1 server.  My other Mitel servers (2 - 3300's, vMCD, 2 - MBG's) all are syncing fine with an internal, Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 domain controller as the NTP time source.  My MiCollab server is pointing to the same IP address as the rest, but it shows .LOCL. as the 'refid' and does not have an asterisk (*) in front of the server name; it continues to gain time.  I changed it to manual mode and reset the time overnight as it was 3+ minutes ahead of the other servers, workstations and NTP domain controller source on the network.  I also rebooted the server after changing it back to automatic (use NTP) instead of manual.  This hasn't worked.  I can periodically query the NTP source from the Date and Time page in the management gui and see that it is gaining time.  Does anyone have any suggestions of how to correct this problem?  The only change in the environment was moving from windows server 2008 r2 domain controllers to windows 2012 r2 domain controllers which occurred several months ago.

Mitel Software Applications / IDS Primary/Secondary Directory Servers
« on: April 30, 2018, 05:28:15 PM »
We recently migrated to new domain controllers from 2008 to 2012 R2.  The host names changed and now I need to reconfigure the primary/secondary directory server names in on the IDS connection in MAS.  Is there a way to accomplish this?  I attempted to create a new connector, but it errors out stating there is already another connector.  If I try to disable synchronization and authentication, MAS wants to send a password email to all of my micollab users.  I don't want an email to be sent for simply pointing to new ldap (AD) servers.  Anyone run into this before and is there a way to handle it?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCC Agent Termination
« on: August 09, 2017, 05:25:44 PM »
I'm running MiCC 7.1.3.2 with a MiVB 7.2 SP1 (current software load 13.2.1.27) virtual machine.  I'm looking for a process or procedure for cleaning up terminated employees who were ACD agents (agent id = extension) from MiCC.  I'm hoping to keep their ACD metrics around for 12 months for historical reporting reasons and then purge it from the database and reuse their agentid/extension for a new ACD agent.  My main concern is freeing up the MiCC Advanced license as well as the MiVB ACD agent license for reuse.  Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

It's not listed in the scheduler, but the Maintenance Log shows a DBMS CHECK completed every day at 5:02 AM.  "00 database error(s) detected. 00 form(s) could not be accessed."

My backup is scheduled at 11:30 PM.  I have another physical 3300 and a vMCD that do backups at the same time as well.  Nothing scheduled on the same 3300 for the same time though.  These have been scheduled this way for almost 3 years.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Scheduled backup still running
« on: May 16, 2017, 10:15:10 AM »
I have a nightly, scheduled backup on a 3300 that shows it is running since 5/2/2017 (two weeks).  All other nightly backups since 5/2 have failed stating that only one backup can run at a time.  I'm unable to cancel the "running" backup via the scheduler window.  I can run a backup manually.  Is there a maintenance command that would allow me to cancel the bad backup so regularly scheduled backups can resume?

Mitel Software Applications / Micollab for business web ui
« on: April 14, 2017, 11:16:29 AM »
When logging into the Web UI (https://hostname/server-manager) of our Micollab for Business server (version 7.1), the detail screen for individual users won't display for editing.  I can click on User and Services and search for a user or show all users.  When I select one by clicking on the name link or check the box next to user and click on edit, I receive a blank page in return.  This is happening in IE 11 and Chrome.  It was working correctly about 2 days ago, but now it is not.  No changes to the server since the last upgrade about a year ago other than normal adds/changes/deletes of users.  IE and Chrome tried on multiple workstations and the same issue on all.  Other functions in the UI like Micollab client services, nupoint web console, event viewer, system information, etc. are all functioning as expected.  Anyone seen this behavior and/or have any ideas?

The Phones in MiCollab Server under Account Details show the hotdesk extension (3136) and a softphone (31*36).  Both are correct.  It also shows the pilot number for the nupoint voicemail group.

Thanks for the reply Vince.  I've done the comparison you suggested many times.  In fact, when I check the contact information from my MiCollab client, the correct extensions are showing for each user.  The MiCollab client on each user has been uninstalled including deleting the UC folder in the local profile, and reinstalled.  Still no luck.  It seems like the MiCollab server is somehow caching the relocated users extension and when she logs into the client it still points to it.

I have a user that moved to a new dept and has a new extension.  The old extension is in use by a new employee.  Ext. 3101 belongs to the new employee and the micollab client works as expected - chat and phone presence.  The user who moved, now has extension 3136 and the micollab client, when opened, will not put the chat bubble up and is unavailable for chat.  The phone, whether hotdesked in or not, shows constant green.  The interesting part is when 3101 opens micollab, the chat bubble shows up on both users micollab clients and phone presence appears to be tied to that extension.  The 3101 extension is part of a ring group of 3 extension for our receptionists and they are non-hotdesk users.  The name was changed on the micollab (mas) server for the new employee.  The user who moved is a hotdesk, ACD user with a new, AD sync'd user record on the MAS and the phones associated to the user record via MCD.   I'm at a loss as to how to get the relocated user's (3136) micollab client to associate with the new extension instead of the previous one (3101).

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MAS Server Reboot Guidance
« on: February 02, 2017, 11:37:33 AM »
Thanks all for your input!  I do nightly backups of all of my Mitel servers - I learned the hard way in a prior life!  It sounds like most everyone let's their NuPoint system run without regularly scheduled reboots barring any issues.  I think I may do a quarterly restart of the NuPoint services following johnp's method of editing the oflline config just for my piece of mind.

Mitel Software Applications / MAS Server Reboot Guidance
« on: January 30, 2017, 02:01:50 PM »
We recently had an issue with NuPoint where all the voicemail ports went to a RNA state.  Upon contacting vendor support for this issue, I was advised to reboot the MAS (MiCollab 7.1.0.35) server to reactivate the ports.  Although this resolved the issues we were experiencing, no root cause was determined at the time.  I've been asked by my manager whether we should do a scheduled reboot of the MAS (and other virtual servers in our Mitel environment) to hopefully prevent this from occurring again?  Is there guidance or a best practice in the Mitel world that suggests a regularly scheduled reboot is needed and or beneficial?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Corporate Directory missing from Micollab
« on: December 12, 2016, 11:33:32 AM »
I ran into this when we upgraded to 7.1.  The fix was at the MiCollab client level; had to click on the "Layout Options" icon next the the "+" sign in the Contacts section.  From there make sure the "Show Corporate Directory" option has a check mark next to it.
