Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / No ringing tone on some outgoing calls
« on: February 08, 2017, 05:44:03 AM »
Hi all,

we have a MiCollab system that when the costumer dials out from the Mitel to some numbers they don't hear anything until the other side answer the call. This seems to happen when when the Mitel gets a 183 (session progress). When the Mitel receives a 180 (ringing) then the caller hears the ringing tone.

This applies to international numbers and they had experienced the same with toll free numbers. We have turned the option  "Ignore SDP Answers in Provisional Responses" to yes and they are able to hear ringing tone on toll free numbers. But international calls in the example. They still do not hear anything.

Does someone has experienced this before and know a solution/workaround.

Many thanks.

Thank you for your reply.

The system is not in a cluster. I have changed the PBX number of the system. Can I just delete the entry with the default IP address (192.168.1.2) from the Network Elements, or it does not do any harm to let it as it is?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Duplicate PBX number/Cluster Element ID
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:54:36 AM »
Hi everyone,

We have this situation with a running MXe II. When you go to the "Network Elements" tab you get the error that there are duplicate PBX numbers and that in future releases this records must have a unique PBX number.

This has happened because when this system was installed, the backup restore was done, before the IP address of the PBX was changed to the same IP as in the backup. I know, this was not a smart move.

But now how can we fix this? Can I just remove the entry with the default IP 192.168.1.2? Or will there be consequences for the configuration? I have the feeling, that with the restore, this system is seeing it (entry 192.168.1.2) has a different node. Because next to it I have the local node.

Anyone has faced the same before? By the way the system is running on 5.0 SP1 and does not make part of a cluster.

Thank you in advance.

We have no vlans configured on option 125.

I was checking the thread and we experience exact the same thing. The error logs that they stated there, we get them also.

Thank you all for your input.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Network issues on 3300 MXe
« on: July 04, 2014, 11:10:27 AM »
Since a upgrade attempt this system has been given strange network issues. We have replaced it and costumer is working with a temporary system, but now I can't figure out, what is going wrong with it.

We were able to reproduce the same issues on our lab. This happens when we connect the PBX to a router working with VLANs. We have build a situation similar to the costumer on our lab. After a couple of minutes the same symptoms happened. The MCD was not able to be reached through the network and the phones lost their connection to the PBX. After issuing "vlan_off" through the serial port, the MCD was able to be reached again and everything came back to normal.

The MCD has vlan 1 setup in the Network settings (default settings). We are not tagging any vlan on the MCD side.
Our network is setup as data vlan 1; voice vlan 9. As router and switch equipment we are using Cisco equipment.

On the router we have configured a Ethernet port as an "access port". This port is configured as  "switchport access vlan 9". On this port we have connected the MCD. This is exact the same situation as it is at the costumer side and how we do most of the installations.

We have done a full install without restoring any backup, but that does not make any difference.

Does someone has every experienced the same. And is there someone who knows how the IP settings of the Mitel are saved and is there a way to restore that? I know that it is not saved on the hard drive of the system.

Where did you find it? I am searching on the MKB and edocs but can't find it.

We have a couple of 8440 SIP phones running on a MCD 4.2. We are facing a issue. We have added these phones to a ring group along with other phones. In order to answer the right way, it is important that people can see the name or the number of the ring group. We have tried pretty much everything on the MCD side, even with a hunt groep name tag. But whatever we try, you always see the details of the phone that is dialing the ring group.

This is important, because this costumer has one analog door interface with two doors connected to it. The issue is that every time someone rings at the door, the only thing you see on these phones  is the number of the door interface. This way this costumer never knows on which of the doors the person is standing. These phones are replacing some old spektralink 340 and with these and a general Minet phone it works fine.

I got the answer from Mitel yesterday.

You answer the call from the 5604 phone and when you want to transfer the call, you do the following:
press “more”
press “contacts”
select “central phonebook”
search for a name or number
press “call”
press "hang up" to transfer the call

Do be aware that the caller on other side can hear everything that you eventually will say, during all the process until you press “call”. The caller will only be placed on hold from the moment that you press “hang up”.

If you don’t want the caller to hear anything in the meantime, then you can choose to mute your microphone.
press “more”
press “Microphone off”

Be aware that you have to do same before the person you are calling answers the phone, or she/he will not be able to hear you.

Hi everyone,

does anynone knows if it is possible to forward an active call on a 5604 to an entry from the central phonebook? This works fine with a contact from the local phonebook or if you dial a number yourself. But if you try to choose a contact from the central phonebook, then it does not work.

Just to confirm that the upgrade went fine. At first I had the same error message again. I restarted my computer and after that I was able to connect to the Mitel and do the upgrade. The upgrade was successful and I have encountered no issues.

Thanks for you input.

Have you changed anything on your system? Or has this to do with the current MCD version of system?

I am running the latest Java version, some how it seems a Java issue.

Hi,

did anyone already done a upgrade of an 3300 system using windows 8 or 8.1 as operating system. I am wondering if it works.

I was testing it, but I am not able to login the MCD system from the software installer tool. As soon as I try to login I receive a error. "The 3300 is either starting up or shutting down, and the MiXML interface is not currently available".

I am using the latest SI that comes with version MCD 6.0 SP3.

I am having the feeling that it has to do with with windows version. I have tried to change the compability mode to windows 7 or XP, but it doesn't make any difference.

This has to do with the fact that you can only enter an maximum of 50 static IP entry's on the DHCP Static IP menu.

It is not possible to increase it. If you still want to work with static IP's, then you would have to set this up on the phone side.

I know the tread is about the heartbeat failures, but does anyone knows if the issues regarding the SIP channels getting stuck have been solved with the release of MCD 6.0 SP1?
