Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MiVB FXO device

So I have a customer with a remote clinic that they want to put Mitel phones in connected to their virtual MiVB at the main hospital... They have a VPN that is rock solid, so no problem with the phones. Problem is at this location the local dial tone cannot be ported, so I need an FXO device to bring 4 loop start telco lines at the remote site into the vMVB. What is everyone using for this application right now? We used to use the AudioCodes MP1xx but those seem to be unobtainium these days... Anybody use the Grandstream HT841 or have another recommendation?

Can someone explain to me the difference in practice between a Category C license and a Category F license? Both seem to be "SIP" licenses, is their use in the system interchangeable?

Category C Phones: Indicates how many Category C phone licenses are uploaded to the system.
Category C license includes the following phones:
  • Mitel 8600, 8622, 8662, and 8690 phones that are in SIP mode
  • Mitel 8660 phone
  • IP Single Line Adapter SLA
  • Mitel 8664, 8665, and 8668 phones
  • Mitel 8601 SoftPhone for Pocket PC
  • Cisco 7960 SIP Phone - third-party SIP phone

Category F Phones: Indicates how many Category F phone licenses are uploaded to the system.
Category F license includes the following SIP phones:
  • Mitel Unified Communicator (UC) Express SIP Softphone
  • Mitel 5610 Cordless Handset and IP DECT - Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications Stand
  • Mitel 5603/5604/5607
  • Mitel UCA SIP softphone

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel IP Phone Licenses for 53xx phones

I know we can't order these any more, but going through my license bank I have several P/N 54004029 "5000 ICP: IP End Point Unit License" for MiCollab... Can these be applied to an app record and used for 53xx phones? I also have a few 840.0415 "IP Phone Cat C License" and some 840.0417 "MiVoice Office License - Dig Phone Cat E", those perhaps?

I know there is some flexibility with some of these licenses, but I can't remember where they can crossover.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Call Recording Options

I have a customer with MiVoice Call Recording recording, using trunk-side recording on a PRI, that due to an unfortunate series of events, missed the option to use the local licensing and their calls are no longer being recorded... What alternatives are out there? I have heard of Hanson Software's call recording application, has anyone used it? They are sending out emails saying they have an alternative for MiVoice Call Recording... https://www.hansensoftware.com/

So I haven't done a Mitel installation for a long time, and this is the first one I have done that purely virtual and the analogs are all SIP extensions on a 48-port Grandstream...

I have a few instances where the Single Line SIP extensions are not ringing as part of groups.

First one is a 6930 desk phone and an analog cordless connected to a SIP extension on a Grandstream device (Full Service, stand-alone extension)... Calling the analog cordless directly works fine as does calling the 6930 desk phone, but if you call the Ring Group that is set to Ring All that contains both devices, only the 6930 rings.

For another user, we built a MDUG with a 6930 and a SIP extension both setup as Multi-User Devices under the same user, both can make calls fine, but when you call the Prime DN, only the deskphone rings and not the SIP analog extension.

Is there something unique about single line SIP extensions here? I am a little confused as to why this isn't working... I haven't done a MiVB install for a long time, but I have done hundreds and don't recall ever running across this before...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Call History on 6930 sets

I recently did a new install of a MiVoice Business 3300 in a medical facility, and it's been working well but the IT guy got ahold of me today and said that the call history on the 6930 phones isn't showing "second missed calls" meaning when they are on a call and a second call rings in on the Multicall appearance of the prime DN of the phone, it doesn't show in the phones embedded call history as a missed call, but if I give them a Call History key via the Mitel server it shows the calls there. Anyway to adjust this behavior in the 6930 set's embedded Call History application or am I going to have to put Call History keys on a hundred sets?

I was in a system today looking at something else, and noticed these log entries (LOTS of them) related to their SIP trunks... Anyone seen this before and have any insight?

The customer has not complained of any trunk/call related issues.

Has anyone been able to get this to work with the MiVO250? I can get the Bria Solo mobile and desktop client to work pretty well, but on the mobile application the only way I can make it work is to disable the Push Notification Service, otherwise the Mitel rejects the calls or fails.

What seems to happen is when the mobile phone doesn't have the app active, it deregisters itself and registers a Push Notification server... then when a call is presented, the Push Notification goes to the mobile device to "wake up" the app and register it to get the call. Works great on our Broadsoft server, but on the MiVO 250 it just doesn't like it and the call fails.

There are a handful of settings in the Bria client to mess with the settings, and I have tried all four "modes" for the Push Notification settings and none of them seem to work properly. Anybody have any luck making it work? I just want to get it working as with the Push disabled, it makes a noticeable impact on battery life, although it does work reliably.

What are people using for a remote SIP softphone on the MiVO 250?

I have a user who will be remote 100% of the time, and mobile, and they do not have MiVO Application server so the Mitel softphone isn't an option anymore... Any recommendations for a remote user? Firewall ports can be adjusted... VPN isn't an option.

Anyone use https://www.zoiper.com?
