Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / doorboxes
« on: May 15, 2014, 11:33:25 AM »
I added a doorbox to our Valcom box we were already using on our system and I am not sure how to direct the calls to the intended group of extensions.

I found a
  • Trunk Group Assignment
  • Trunk Service Assignment
  • Ring Group Assignment
associated with my other door box, but I can't figure out how to put it together for a new one.

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / CP Service night mode
« on: January 23, 2013, 09:47:04 AM »
I have a certain incoming line programmed in Sys admin->call handling->call routing->Call Rerouting Assignment for a night mode.

I know I used Sys admin->Automatic Call Distribution :
->Agent ID Assignment
->Agent Skill Group Assignment
->Path Assignment

To handle the one line. How do I add another line to go to the same night path?
Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 1 digit System Speed Call Assignment
« on: September 20, 2012, 06:26:13 PM »
Can I create a one digit System Speed Call, say "1" to dial an outside number?  What might I "break"?

People need to dial 8 or 9 to dial an outside number; all extensions are 3 digit.

I know it will pause to see if the person wants to dial more digits but I am ok with that. I just do not want to force other calls to that "1".

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / dial by name
« on: September 03, 2012, 01:20:40 PM »
In an old thread, http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,258.msg943.html#msg943
someone asked a problem similar to mine. we have various auto-attending messages for different departments.  Only the "main" messages gives the 9 for "dial by name". How do I get people from the other  auto-attending messages to the dial by name message?  It is fine that all names are listed in one directory...

Eli

You'll have to have all mailboxes on each system you need dial by name by.

Or, upgrade to a centralized voice mail,
Or, incorporate the new Microsoft Exchange stuff -really cool, voice activated, call me if you want a demo.
Or, pick up a used voice mail system for that express purpose.   You could even use an old DOS machine for that.  Cheap solution but it's another data base you'd have to maintain.  If it crashes you pick up another one.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Hunt groups
« on: July 02, 2012, 03:06:44 PM »
Can someone point me a a step by step for creating a Hunt group?  We published a new DID and I want the receptionists to be able to answer a call made to that DID even if it is "busy".

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / change name for a extension/handset
« on: June 29, 2012, 09:26:48 AM »
I wanted to change the name for an extension.  I made the change in both
1) sys admin->telephone directory management->telephone directory assignments.
2) Sys admin->voice mail->voice mailbox config.
When you dial the extension, the old name still comes up. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

I did the following:
a.    plug in while holding scroll UP.
b.   “set static IP param”? press # for yes
c.   Press arrow down once
d.   "Use present settings?" Press * to delete
e.   “save and exit?”, press # for yes

it rebooted and came back up as the old extension. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / call log
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:39:34 PM »
Newbie question: Can I find a record of who placed a certain call? 911 got dialed and I'd like to figure out from what extension.

I have a phone which is used by lots of people (think lunchroom or lounge). It has its own Caller ID. If the call's recipient calls back after seeing the Caller ID, the odds are extremely low that the dialer is still there.  I'd like to automatically send all calls to an information only mailbox.  However, internally, I still needs to be able to ring that extension or forward calls there.

how do I set that up?

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Snow day... or not
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:29:01 PM »
Generally, we have our receptionist answer our phones and only rely on the auto-attendant if no one answers after 5 rings.

On occasion, I would like to change that for one of our departments/incoming DIDs.

For example on a day when it is NOT a "snow day", 60% of our calls are "Are you opened?" which the atto-attendant could be changed to answer.

So, how do I temporarily change the way that DID gets answered?

Alternately, I could forward all calls from that DID to a different DID which does get answered by the autoattendant after 0 rings.  How would I do that?

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / redirect to main greeting?
« on: November 05, 2010, 02:45:16 PM »
Our calls come in to various DID numbers in different departments. Every once in a while someone calls in for the wrong department.  I'd like to be able to have the multi-level auto attendant send the call to the main greeting when they hit "9" say, and have it go through the list of departments or press 9 for dialing by alpha.

What "extension" can I put in for that node so calls are routed back to that top level greeting?  the default extension that rings it is 300, but it doesn't accept 300 as a mailbox/extension, saying , quite rightly, it doesn't exist...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / terminate long calls?
« on: April 21, 2010, 12:25:59 PM »
Can we program a maximum length of a phone call using a particular trunk and have it terminate the calls automatically 1 minute or 2 minutes if the person stay on after that length?
(It's actually to terminate calls made to do the door box, which hang up the system when someone answers hands free and forgets to hang up)
Thanks!

On a day like today, with a lot of snowfall, many of the calls coming in just want to know our schedule.

Our normal setup is for a human to answer the main line calls and only after 5 rings for the auto-attendant to pick up.

How can I change that for a day like today, where calls would be routed immediately to our announcement extension, which would then dump them into the auto-attendant if they need more help?

The main line is currently set up under "Multi-Level Auto Attendant Configuration" to a voice tree of extensions (which, again, only picks up after 5 rings).

Can I just forward all calls to that announcement extension?

Thanks!
Eli
