Local Government is migrating from POTS lines on a Nortel to a PRI on a 3300.
A few of the offices want their listed number to have two line appearances on all the phones, with only two phones per department where the DIDs rings into. If the two phones are busy, they want the next call to go to voicemail. How can I achieve this?

I think I figured it out...dump the appearances as multicall and instead, build them as key system. I remember doing that on a SX200...

You could do it with hunt groups of keys.
The HG would be the DID and the keys would be members.
The forward the HG on a busy/RNA to VM.

I thought about that, but the customer wanted the listed number to ring on it's own key with a different cadence, and I didn't think I could accomplish that using hunt.
If I can, I would love to learn how...I figure I am maybe 15% proficient on these systems :-)

I don't see why not. I set them up that way all the time. There are only two ring cadence. External and Internal. It doesn't matter if it rings to a HG or not.

If you did the main line as two key system appearances I think it would still only accept one call at a time.

With a PRI, the limiting factors are the number of unique keylines within the hunt group and the number of trunks in the T1.

Thanks gentlemen...
Ralph, are you saying build hunt groups with no members and populate the keys with the hunt group DNs?
Thanks, Jim

Program up keys with non-DID numbers. Be sure to program them as "Key System" not Multicall.
Then put those numbers in a DID hunt group.
Calls should then be limited to just the number of keys you have.

Oh, awesome, I see what what you mean...thanks, I'll try it!

Thanks, the hunt group trick worked like a charm...
ZuluAlpha was correct, the way I was trying it, only gave me one call at a time.
Thanks, guys
