Title: Analog System - Call Forward
Post by: ascenseur on January 29, 2011, 05:08:18 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to help out a user who has an analog phone on the system with a request they have.

Basically, they have an internal extension that doesn't have a DDI - something like ext. 270, whereas the DDI scheme ends at 269.
(Odd, yes. All down to money reasons unfortunately).

Anyway, basically, they would like all calls to their extension to forward to an external number when they are unable to answer their phone.

They are not due for an upgrade to an IP Phone until sometime late this year, and the call forwarding issue is a big problem at the moment.

As we're using a 3300 ICP, can any of you provide me with the details on how to do this?

Thanks :)

Joe

What software version on the 3300 are you running?

I believe it to be version 4.

Thanks :)

Create a system speed dial and check "Over ride Toll Control"
Forward the phone on RNA to the speed dial number.
You can forward via the FAC or in Call Rerouting forms.  - in any case, be sure that the "Call Rerouting Second Alternative" is set to '1'.

The caller will hear "ring - silence - Ring"

There are several assumptions I'm making here so hopefully it works first of.

Hey ralph,

Thanks for the help :)

However, we no longer have control of the PBX. The management company (Bailey Teswaine) took complete control of it under a service agreement and now we don't even have logins to it.

I've seen an ONS/Analog guide on the mitel site - this one: http://edocs.mitel.com/UG/EN/33_ONS_R7_EN.pdf
Is this possible at a user end side?

Or, if I was to fast-track the IP telephone install, would this make it easier? Is forwarding configurable from the IP telephone?
If so, how?

Thanks,

Joe

Just curious who owns the system you or Bailey Teswaine?

If the system is set up to allow external call fwd you could just use the feature code from the analog set.

The management company will probably have to give you the FAC for call forwarding.

This is something I have a hard time getting my head around:   If I own a system I'd expect to have the passwords.
My company has hundreds of contracts and every customer has the login information at root level.
Very, very seldom do we have a customer create a problem.   Even then it usually minor enough to say "well, you should have done this instead...."  and still cover it under contract.
Even then, if a customer rocks a system, we'd bill for the labor to fix it.   Not a big deal.

I think I'd rather have a happy customer that has their passwords then one that's pissed at me because he doesn't.

Ditto Ralph - and not to hijack - but Mitel's policy on password resets needs some work! :)

  Sorry  ascenseur, I have nothing.....
