Has anyone here worked on the ancient SX2000 Dark with the black cabinets and the entire shelf of control cards . When we retired those and put in 2000 lights it was HAPPY days .
-
I started with the SX2000 back in 1986 (I think that was the year)
The software version was E stream.
The cabinets were bigger than most refrigerators.
I put a few of those in.
Life is so much better now.

I kind of miss working on those old hunks of metal.

Your memory is spot on Ralph we installed 3 of the darks in 3 hospitals i986 with AVT voice mail systems I think with COV intergration .
-
That was back in the days when some systems didn't have voice mail. "They'll answer the damn phone!"
ONS and COV integrations. Even did some with E&M integration.
I remember the pain of backing up and loading software to/from 8 inch floppies.
Then tape. If I remember correctly, there was a bug in the backup software in one of the first versions of the light where it looked like it backed up but didn't. That caused us to have to reprogram a switch from scratch.
BTW: I take credit for installing the first non-beta Light Switch in the US. Another dealer in CA cut over the same day but we're 4 hours ahead. ;)

I remember the 8 inch floppies fondly when working on ROLM 8000s , FDMP 0 listening to drive clicking . Programming from a silent 700 at 300 baud .
