I this situation I would either:

Attach both phones to the same Node, so Phone A is in location A connected to node A, Phone B would be in location B connected to Node A. In this set up you could use Hotdesking as both phones would be on the same Node.

Requires button pushing by the CEO

If no one else uses the phones whilst the CEO is at the other site, use a Hunt Group. Stick both CEO phones into the hunt group and publish the Hunt Group Number as the CEO Extn number. Point his DDI at the Hunt Group and use a CRA pointing to his Mailbox as the Recall Destination. Use DEE (or Mitel Phone Manager) to get both phones fashing for VMs

Requires NO button pushing by the CEO

Some of our sites have problems with ISDN2 circuits going out of service and a reboot fixes this, so those sites have a weekly reboot set.

Navigate to the Phone you have placed remotely in System Admin and Diagnostics, then IP Settings, change the NAT Address type to NAT.

Totally off topic, what was NMYSBH the password for again? I seem to remember a big cabinet with plug in cards, various LEDs with a screw on opaque plastic cover.

Hello

Yes reporter needs to be running and the schedule window needs to be open.

We normally stick this on the server but it does eat up a very expensive license!

36
Doesn't normally be an admin, just a user.

Can you not have a new user created, telephonesystem@company.com or similar then send as that user?

37
When I've used Hot Desks in the past I've always named the 'base' phone extn as LOGGED OUT.

Makes it easier when users call in with a fault.

Thanks everyone

The customer now has a quote for a UPS to power the system.

In my defense the system was on a UPS until they built a new comms room and moved all of the servers and UPS's to it leaving the phone system in the old location.  :(

The system has had a new Compact Flash when I upgraded to 6.2 SP2 PR5, I did go out to site once as the system was completely down and all I needed to do was hit the central button to bring it back up.

Power issues could be the culprit as there is some heavy building work going on near by.

Anyone had reboots caused by a "Code Change" recently, I thought they were a thing of the past!

Got a 6.2 SP2 PR5 doing it monthly ish, sending it over to Mitel TS at the minute but was curious to see if anyone else has had it recently?

There's a new Cloudlink programming section in 6.3 and a lot about it in the training for 6.3, not available yet to us in the UK though!

42
6.3 seems to be really good at recovering from network outages, recently we installed a 250 running Gamma SIP trunks in the UK.

We had a lot of trouble with the Broadband AND router during install and whenever the internet connection went off then back on the SIP trunks just re-connected and started working again.

Thanks Fellas

There's no config in the switch, it has no VLANS set.

It's at the newest Firmware revision currently.

I'll give the Port Speed to 100m a go.

Cheers!

« on: March 20, 2018, 04:51:54 AM »
New install went in last week, 250 with 40 Handsets on a Netgear GS752TP doing the switching and POE.

Seemed ok at first then on go live day phones started showing "No Bandwidth for Voice" and the Message Print showed phones constantly disconnecting and re-connecting.

Pinging the 250 showed about 12 Pings received <1MS then three pings lost, pretty much spot on every time.

Changed ports, changed 250 chassis, changed leads, changed IP, nothing fixed it.

If I slave a little switch off the main Netgear and plug the 250 into it the problem nearly goes away, good pings, maybe lose 1 to every 30-40. But I get poor voice quality inbound, as in I sound good to callers but they sound slightly off to me, lost packets i'm guessing.

Anyone had anything similar and fixed it?

Fingers crossed!

GCD, in the config of the RFP 12, under Network Settings / NAT Settings.

Enable STUN and use your favoured STUN Server, we use stun.ekiga.net which seems to work all of the time.

On the Yealinks we enable RPORT as well, probably not needed for this as outgoing calls work.
