Hi,
I need a holiday announcement that is valid for specific period of day/time range.
For instance; during 4-days public holiday, an anouncement answers all calls, plays recorded message and hangs up at the end of record.
Is it possible?
Thanks.
Volkan,

Is this the embedded voice mail or NuPoint?

It is the embedded voice mail.
Thanks.

Temp greeting won't disconnect a call. It will only change the greeting.
The only way I can think to disconnect a call like you're asking for is to create an ACD path queues for 1 second (important).
Interflow after 1 second to VM that has a transfer mailbox. Record your greeting in the transfer mailbox.
Set the transfer mailbox to send to a second ACD path that queues for 1 second and then drops.
Next, reroute all the numbers you want to hear the temp greeting and disconnect in Night 2 mode to the 1st ACD path.
To use it, put your system in Night 2 mode.
Haven't ever tried the above and the part I'm not sure of is the transfer box.
You'll have to try it out.

Why not just use a announcement only mailbox, which just disconnects at its end? Just route all calls to the box. done.
-
Pretty sure an announcement mailbox will return the caller to the main auto attendant after the message is played. Best bet here for those specific requirements is to make a RAD, then route the calls to the RAD during the period needed.

X-man,
Oh, there you go. Trying to make life easy.
Why do something in one step when you can do it in 15?
::)
Seriously though, I didn't realize an announcement box would hang up.

In the old days, if you routed a call directly to a RAD, it turned it into a with an announcement with DISA functionality.
Somewhere in the back of my mind I think that has changed but will it disconnect the call after playing?
If you put the RAD in an ACD path you can get it to disconnect but am I adding more steps than needed again?

I have done this on the SX200, same VM so using the RAD should work...
There is a very simple answer to this as well, if you have an open ONS port, buy a $10 answering machine that can make an announcement, put it on a ONS port, record message in answering machine, then ring trunks to answering machine! Minimal setup and cost, very few steps... only drawback is volume handling.

Answering machine! Truly old school.

Information only mailbox (which is what I meant by announcement)
"After listening to the information, the caller can hang up, dial 0 to reach the operator, or dial another extension"...so I was nearly there. I don't know if there is any other prompt from the AA about dialling etc. but IIRC there isn't and haven't got a lab system up at the minute to test it.
-
Tried it quick on lab system... setup a Information Mailbox and recorded a greeting in it and you get get a canned prompt after the mailbox greeting of "You may enter another extension now, for assistance press 0, to end this call simply hang-up..." then after a timeout it goes to the regular "root" day or night AA greeting.
-
Will that depend on supercivesd/unsupervised transfer?
-
Just tested it... seems irrelevant to the supervised transfers being enabled or not, I don't think it's "transferring", it's more like it is routing through the VM system.

I'm not sure that eciroglu is still monitoring this thread.
He originated the thread but hasn't jumped back in for a while.
I wonder if we're chasing something that moot at the moment.
