Mite 3300 hyper terminal (serial cable)
« on: April 23, 2017, 03:41:00 PM »
Hi All,

Can someone send me the pin diagram of the hyper terminal ( serial.cable)... I have a problem with my controller and it seems like no way to upload new software by normal way.

Really thanks for your quick support.

Thanks
Marwan

It's a null modem cable.

The cable is a standard straight through 9-pin serial cable. 9600 8N1

That said, you cannot upload software though it, that still occurs via a network FTP connection, but you can adjust the boot parameters to pull the files from a specific location. Note that this will wipe the database and license key, you have to restore it manually.

Hi guys,

I tried to make this cable many times and the result was i can see the booting sequence for the controller but i can not press the space space space to the booting of the controller... i found a lot of the pin diagram of the null serial cable and i will appreciate if you share with me the correct pin out.

thanks
Marwan

It is not a null modem cable... It is an industry standard 9-pin straight through RS-232 cable.

M-F
1-1 (DCD)
2-2 (Rx)
3-3 (Tx)
4-4 (DTR)
5-5 (Signal Ground)
6-6 (DSR)
7-7 (RTS)
8-8 (CTS)
9-9 (This is the Ring In Indicator and is not used for this application, it can be skipped if you are using RJ45-RS232 modular adapters)
G-G (Cable Ground, not essential)

That is all there is to it, nothing special... In theory, only pins 2, 3, and 5 are required by the controller, although Hyperterminal may not work right without the others, Tera Term doesn't care as long as you turn off flow control.

I also recommend using TeraTerm and not Hyperterminal. https://ttssh2.osdn.jp/index.html.en

In the old days, back when everything was DB25, I always strapped 4-5 together, then 5,8,20.  I did this on both ends.  Then for a null cable I'd just swap 2&3.
(I'm repeating that by memory so don't trust it)

I'm thinking in your case you may want to strap CTS and RTS together on both ends.
