disable Mitel 3300 signalling encrytion
« on: April 10, 2017, 06:08:15 AM »
Hello,

I wanted to extract all the signalling information from network packets which were captured with a switch (port mirroring and wireshark). Unfortunately the packets data encrypted and with a little search I realized that the encryption may be aes-128.

Is there any way to disable this feature from 3300?

I had a similar problem with voice data too and there was an option in web interface to disable it, but I haven't had any luck to find anything about signalling.

Disable System Options - Voice Encryption, it changes in real time for all new calls (existing calls are not changed).

It just disable voice encryption but not the signalling.

To be honest, I didn't think signalling was encrypted, only audio... When support has us do captures that is the only change made.

See which port is used for MiNet signalling, it should be any of these:

6800 TCP MiNet Server (at 3300)
6801 TCP Secure MiNet (SSL) (at 3300)
6802 TCP Secure MiNet (AES) (at 3300)

It is 6802, AES ... :(
