MITEL 6865i problem : Cfg Svr Failure
« on: March 03, 2017, 09:43:23 AM »
Hi everyone,

First of all, sorry if my English is bad. :P

We have a problem on a MITEL phone, for example when we tried to push the button “Call lists key” for example, the phone displayed “loading” then “cannot display”, this is the same problem after a reboot. The phone have more than 20 missed calls and it is possible to make a call.

Phone :
Platform : 6865i
Firmware Version   4.2.0.2023
Firmware Release Code   SIP
Boot Version   Boot2 1.0.0.D Jun 16 2016 01:28
Server MITEL MiVoice Office 400

See below the error “Cfg Svr Failure” :

After a phone reboot, the same thing :

I was wondering if the problem could be this one, but I don’t know how to resolve it at the moment :
http://micc.mitel.com/kb/KnowledgebaseArticle51305.aspx

I found no other information on the internet or the documentation.

I tried to do a port mirroring and I made a Wireshark capture, when I was trying to do the action on the phone (push the button).

We can see an unauthorized action when I push the button on the phone, this is probably associated with the problem, I am still looking for why :

Full file in attachment.

I tried to change the “configuration server” config on the phone, HTTPS, HTTP, but this is still the same problem.

I checked the network config and this is OK. In addition, everything works well since the beginning of February with the same config (phone and network). We have more than 30 other phones and it’s working well.

What do you think about that ? Do you have an idea ?

Thank you !

Cédric

Hi Cedric

Usually, i'm using tftp://<MiVo470 ip address> for configuration server...after first boot, will change to https (defined in config file) and never had a problem like this...
What is a version of MiVo470?
Zoran

Hi Zoran,

I tried with TFTP and the problem is the same. I tried to compare with another phone and the config is the same... Maybe a bug ?

few questions...
- Problem with only one phone or there is more?
- Are you working on VLAN? If yes, how VLAN config is delivered? DHCP or manuall settings?
- Try to delete local config, restart and then factory default, restart (phone) and srtart from beginning...
Let us know...

Hi zoo,

Thank you for your advice,

It's only about one phone and we are using a VLAN. This is a manual settings in the server and each phone got an IP with DHCP on this VLAN.

I will try to change the local config then delete / factory default / etc, I will let you know my progress.

Thank you for your help !

Cédric

Hi,

It's working after deleting the local config and a factory reset ! Sometimes it's better to start from the beginning to save time... ;)

The difference I have seen in the local.cfg and server.cfg on the phone :

- HTTP digest password has changed, but It's configured with "http digest force login 0", according to the documentation that means it's disabled, so I think it does not matter.
    - was "http digest password: 14563475"
    - now "http digest password: YoEhEA63dPskfn5EI0lNfJxjaojbu6V7"

- VLAN config is now in the server.cfg file and before in the local.cfg file. I guess it's normal because the authentication was wrong before, but I am not sure...

However, the phone was configured in the same way for 1 month, idem for the switch port and vlan config, and it was not working only since the end of last week.

Thank you for your help, it was very helpful !

Have a good day,

Cédric
