Problem with outgoing calls on analog lines
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:01:29 AM »
Hi Mitel friends,

I am having an issue with outgoing calls. I have to try a few times before the call is going through. I called the telephone company and they told me that when the call is not going through because they are receiving 6 digits instead if 7. We have a 7  digits dialing plan on the island.
I have a Mitel 3300 Cxi with MCD7.2

The telephone company is using Meta Switch to process the calls.

Can someone help me out how to monitor all outgoing calls to the telephone company ? So i can see how many digits is going out to the Telephone company ?

Thanks in advanced,

Gimitel

What type of trunks are you using, analog, PRI (digital), or SIP?

Odds are really good that with loop start analog lines that the PBX is starting to outpulse before the trunks are ready to receive digits.
The way to resolve that is by using the call progress tone form.  Add a one second delay in your digit mod table before out pulsing.

Hi Ralph,

Can you give me an example how to do it?
How to add the one second delay in the Digit Mod?

Thanks,

Gianni

In ARS Call Progress Tone Detection create a new plan, usually 1, Maximum Wait for A Tone to 1 seconds and Action on Time-out to Outpulse Default, don't fill in the Tones to Detect section and it will essentially act like a pause. Then in your Digit modification insert <T01> before anything else you might be inserting.

You can actually get fancy if you wish, say set Maximum Wait for A Tone to 3 seconds, and in Tones to Detect set to "NA Precise Dial Tone" (or whatever is appropriate for your location) and action to take to Outpulse Default, then insert that into your digit mod insert, the system will go off-hook and look for North American Precise Dialtone for up to 3 seconds, then start dialing as soon as dialtone is detected or after the 3 second time-out.

Help in this section goes along way, but using it is just inserting <Txx> including the brackets into ARS Digit Mod insert field.
