That's a good question.
If you find an answer to that please let us know.

I don't see how you could do this in the maintenance console, but couldn't you just open two SSH sessions and do the tcpdump in one and tail in the other?

Ace;

I want to do a Sip All Tail command to watch a call in the maintenance window whilst also doing a SIP TCPDump at the same time.

I can then see what the tail is and copy to a text file as well as have the tcpdump on the system if I need it at a later date.

Kind Regards

I tried this on the latest release (MCD 8.0 PR2), executed SIP TCPDUMP ON and then SIP TAIL ON and made an outgoing call. I saw the SIP signalling in the maintenance window and also saw the same later in the PCAP file. The only issue was that the SIP TAIL stopped after the call was made so I had to reissue the command again.

Cheers all. Guess I will have to give it a go to see at some point. Will just do a tcpdump for the time being.

And doable in release 5.0 of MCD too. i had sip all tail and sip all tcpdump on and the file was saved to the /db area and the output on the maintenance screen with the proviso that the sip tail may need to be restarted as noted.
