Feature Code to use Extension to Extension over INTERCOM/Speaker?

Hey folks!

Has anyone had a client who wanted to be able to extension to extension dial normally (i.e. pick up the set, dial someones extension (or press a speed call key)) and have it ring the destination, BUT ALSO be able to use a code/feature to be able to call from one extension to another over the speaker/intercom?

Any ideas on how to be able to use both on the fly? Without changing the entire systems way of operation?

Mitel MiVoice Office 250, 6.2.2.13, Digital phones 8568.

The customer currently has a Meridian system that they are getting rid of, but it has a code/feature that they can punch to allow set to set calling via the speakerphone. He wants to replicate this, but only via query/occasion and NOT all of the time.

It's not a Meridian, so it works differently...in this case backwards from what they had before.  Set extension flag to HANDS FREE, all intercom calls will ring through on speaker.  To force calls to ring until answered press # before the extension.

I was under the impression that we could only set one or the other, via disabling the dee options.
