NuPoint with 4025s and Analog Extensions
« on: December 08, 2016, 01:27:15 PM »
I'm in the process of upgrading an EL to a 3300 with standalone NuPoint.  The 4025 sets seem to work just fine, but for some reason I can't seem to get mailboxes set up for them.  When I try to add a mailbox, I get the following message:

Failed to update phone MiVoice Business Full Phone Service [NO_DEVICE] with number 7999 (Phone Service) for user unknown on (SYSTEMNAMEDELETED): Zone ID cannot be changed for non-IP devices.

The system logs in 3300 show:
Software
Log Number      3117
Severity      Warning
Date      2016/Dec/08
Time      12:21:08
Source      CUSPE MOD Operation
Description      execute()->Failed to modify user with GUID 1757b720-e61e-11e5-930e-08000f8ac41eZone ID cannot be changed for non-IP devices.
Module      Main
File Name and Line Number      CUSPEModifyOperation.cpp;342

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like MiCollab single app?

Is this a stand-alone Nupoint server or a MiCollab server? MiCollab does not support digital phones, you can still add a mailbox but you have to do it manually in the Nupoint web console, you can't do it with MiCollab SPP/Flow-thru Provisioning.

It is a standalone nupoint, and that did end up being the problem.  I've never had to add digital extensions to one of these before, so just figured they'd be similar to the IP phones that we usually add.  It works if I add them manually - pity that they don't support the flow through, but can't say there are too many people who actually want the old 4025's on these anymore anyway!

I have had more than one stand-alone Nupoint on 3300's with digital phones, and it has never been a problem since there is no SDS sharing, or any kind of sharing of data, that occurs between the two boxes.

How are you building the mailbox?!?! Are you just adding mailbox 1234 in Nupoint's web console for digital extension 1234 and this error is coming up? Dumb question, but in the SS4025's COS you do have the HCI options enabled, correct?

I don't see how a standalone nupoint would/could cause the listed log. As for using UAS with digital and analog, I would choose other pbx phone.
