mitel sip trunking with other vendors

hi,
does anyone have experience in direct connecting a 3300Mxe with other PBX brands like Grandstream UC6xxx or yeastar via sip trunks? I want to know if this is feasible. Does the icp normally act as the sip provider or does the other vendors act as such?

I have configured SIP trunking between an MCD and 3CX as well as a Polycom DMA for Audio Conferencing. It is not too difficult a task, and I wouldn't consider them as any type of provider relationship as they were configured as peers.
