Slow ring on Bria
« on: September 30, 2016, 11:25:25 AM »
I have a client using a Bria softphone.
MiVoice Office 250 6.1.3.27

When someone calls his extension(or the system rings as part of the hunt group) it takes about 12 seconds before his phone starts to ring. Is there a setting somewhere to make this faster?

Does it happen when you use it in house, on the same network as the system.

The problem I have with Bria softphones is they seem to be easily hacked.

Magnus,

What you will need to do is tell us the version of software your Mitel 5000 is currently running; there may be a known issue with SIP on your version.

Next, have you looked at your SIP logs to see if there is an issue with the SIP protocol handshake to get the calls in the first place?

Darrel,

That is an unfair assessment of a product since it is the duty of the person setting it up to ensure that the system the softphone attaches to is secure; the softphone itself is not the issue most of the time.

Thanks,

TE

They are using a 250 version 6.1.3.27

I am not sure familiar with reading the SIP logs. There is a bunch of stuff in there, but I don't know what exactly I am looking for.

The customer is using the Bria on his VPN or locally only. And he is using a MAC.

This is happening either in house or when he is out of the office. Doesn't seem to matter.

Magnus,

Is this phone part of an actual Hunt Group or is this user setup for Dynamic Extension; possibly delayed?

Thanks,

TE

Not part of a hunt group. Or at least it does the same when you transfer directly to his extension.
DEE is turned off.

Magnus,

Well at this point you are going to need to turn on SIP Logs to see if there is an issue with the SIP integration.

How do you have this programmed in the system?

Thanks,

TE
