Multiple DHCP with different Subnet on one Mitel 3300 Mxe
« on: September 29, 2016, 11:25:13 PM »
Gents,

One more question.
One customer want to have multi subnet on the voice network.

Is it possible to have multiple dhcp with different subnet on the same pbx.
They want guest phone, deskphone and phone on open area to have different ip subnet.

I was thinking program multiple dhcp all with their own subnet and in the options i will specify the ip address of the pbx.

Is this possible.

Please advise.

Yes as long as the networks can route to each other there us no reason you can't have phones on different subnets with the same PBX.

You could still use the controller to serve DHCP as well if you like. Just point your helpers to it and setup each scope accordingly.
Much easier to serve Option 125 via the 3300.

Yes, completely possible but there are limits to how many subnets and different DHCP options the 3300 can handle. I think it can do up to 20. I have sites where we're using the 3300 to provide DHCP to 12 different subnets.
