Video conferencing on UC360 to other VC devices
« on: July 25, 2016, 04:17:58 PM »
We have a client with a number of sites with teleworkers handsets connecting back to a 3300 with SIP trunks at their head office.

They are asking for a video conferencing solution between these sites and we are going to recommend the UC360s. However, they need to be able to video conference with customers with different video conferencing equipment such as Polycom. We've done some in-house testing with UC360s and they work great between each other over WAN or LAN, but we've had no luck making connection to 3rd party equipment.

We have one set up connected on the same LAN as the MBG/3300 and one over a separate WAN connected back to the MBG/3300 as a teleworker. Neither can make a call to something like a Polycom (Tried many of the Polycom test sites).

Please can you advise.

You would probably need to have a bridge involved to fix up the interop and/or codec issues. Have a look at products like webex cmr or Pexip. Both can bridge multiple vendors like Lync, polycom, etc.
