VoiceMail forward Press 'C' the 2 key
« on: May 06, 2016, 11:47:51 AM »
I am trying to get our users phones to work with the whole Advanced Voicemail settings of "to reach this users cell phone, press C the 2 key".
If I set the users advanced options and use an internal 4 digit extension, it will forward to the 4 digit extension. If I enter in a users cell phone it will not work.
Class of Service Options are set to "Call Forwarding (external Destination) - yes / Account Code length is set to 4 as I read it should be set to the same digit length of an extension / non verified account code is also set to yes.

What else am I missing? New to this, please be gentle.

When the users enter their cell phone number, are they including your systems dial-out digit, like 9?

Check the Class of Restriction on the voicemail ports and trunks.

Is the COS for the VM ports using 4 for account code length, not the extension COS?

Do you get a message after the pressing 2?

Ace,
I'm a rookie, how do I go about checking the COR VM ports and what would I be looking for?

Class of Restriction is just like assigned to phones, it restricts which routes can be accessed in ARS... Typically Voicemail ports by default are often completely restricted so they can't call outside the system at all and trunks are often restricted to only allowing local calls.

You need to understand what COR restricts what... often 1 is local only, 2 is LD, 3 is international, etc... you will need to check the VM ports in Services and the trunks in Trunk Service.

I believe that you'll have to look in the Station Attributes form to see what the current COS and COR assignments are.

The things that can bite you are
  • COR not allowing outbound calls
  • COS not having public trunk access
  • COS not having the account code length correct
  • NO FAC for entering account code (not sure on this one)
  • Not having ARS access code in the dial stream
