Mitel AWC application crashing
« on: March 22, 2016, 11:50:03 AM »
Hi

A number of our users are finding that the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing Client is crashing when trying to go into a conference.

The users can click a link on the invitation email then click on share. The splash screen for the client appears but then they receive the following error:

"MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing Client has stopped working."

In the event log the users get the following message:

Faulting application name: MCAC.EXE, version: 6.0.38.0, time stamp: 0x56157f2f
Faulting module name: clr.dll, version: 4.6.1055.0, time stamp: 0x563c0f73
Exception code: 0xc00000fd
Fault offset: 0x00014441
Faulting process id: 0x1ce4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d1838192e3ca5f
Faulting application path: C:\ProgramData\Mitel\MCAClient\MCAC.EXE
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\clr.dll
Report Id: d35d04c7-ef74-11e5-b746-5440876d8c10

I have performed the following troubleshooting so far:
·         Uninstalled and reinstalled the client did not resolve
·         Under:
o   “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\” renamed Mitel folder to Mitel.old and
o    “C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\” renamed Mitel folder to Mitel.old
o   The application still crashed
·         Logged on as an unaffected user. The application did work
·         Ran .net framework cleanup tool to remove all versions of .net framework and installed latest version (4.6.1) issue still occurs.
·         Logged onto a different laptop as an affected user. The client works as expected.

AWC Client version: 6.0.38.0
OS Version : Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise

Many thanks

James

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I don't believe it did.
I have been looking into dotnet as an issue and have stripped all versions off using the dotnet cleanup tool. I then put just 4 on and still had the issue. And then tried again with just 4.6.1 clean install but same issue.

The weird thing is it doesn't affect everyone, and I could log onto a laptop where someone had an issue and it works fine. So its sort of looking like its profile related to me. But i'm struggleing to work out how!
