3300 cx Newbie couple of questions.

Just got myself a 3300cx  to have a play with ( used cisco, avaya and free pbx)  and a have a couple of opening questions.

1) does the 3300 act as the TFTP server for firmware?
2) how do I confiugure the second ethernet port ?
3) how do i get the software version , I think its quite old.
4) how do i shutdown, "maintenance commands"  - "Shutdown" errors...

Sure there may be more allong the way.

1) Yes, the 3300 is it's own TFTP server
2) It is for the Internet Gateway, it's only function is if it is a firewall/router and was intended as an all-in-one solution for small offices. It is rarely used today and newer systems do not have the second port. I have never used it.
3) Software is only available to Mitel certified technicians via Mitel OnLine. If the system is upgraded, the license would have to be updated and resynced to the system. This can only be done by the vendor holding the Mitel AMC license application record for that key and if the system has valid Mitel Software Assurance (an annual fee) fully active on the license record. Without a valid license the system is not usable, if you upgrade without a valid license the system will no longer function.
4) Shutdown is a straight forward command that requires confirmation, what are the errors you are getting.

1) How do I list the contents? Upload ? Can't see any file
upload in the gui.

2) I can't see any options to enable it, set it up?

3) I was wanting to find the version i have?

4) shutdown. It's not listed in the maintenance commands help on the system.

1) The TFTP directory will contain all the necessary files for the MiNet phones, they are included with the system software and must match the version. You can place SIP files there by FTPing to the controller (do not use current FileZilla client because it fails, I use WinSCP), login with the normal web admin credentials... This will place you in the /sysro directory, then move to the /sysro/tftp folder.

2) Depending on your software version, it will be under LAN/WAN Configuration, and you must be logged in as a system user (System or another account with root access)

3) Again, this will depend on your revision, but in either the upper right corner or lower left, there should be button called About, click this and it will open an information window detailing your software version.

4) SHUTDOWN is definitely the correct command, I think you must be logged in as a system user to execute that command.

I am logged in as the default "system" user

I looked under network and it only had the one interface.

Is it labeled LAN and WAN, or LAN and ETX?

If the second port is ETX, it is for a card that Mitel used to make that was a mini-application server on a card that went inside the 3300, it was basically hard wired to that device and didn't have a different application.

Ahh it's wired etx , I only wanted to use it so I could have the laptop in one port and a phone in the other whilst testing. No worries on that one.

Got into the FTP server too

Just looked at a 6.0.5.0 system and there is NO shutdown or restart command. Its pull the plug time or set a programmed reboot for a few minutes ahead.

Or you could get into the console (RS-232 port or puTTY RAW session into port 2002 of the controller RTC IP address) and issue a "reboot" command from the VxWorks shell prompt.

try `shutdown now` or `shutdown 0`

appShutdown on the serial seemed to work, although it restarted instead??

I will spend some time over the weekend setting it up.
