CLID is different when conferencing
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:51:33 PM »
I have a user who if she internal dials, it comes up as her ext.  If she dials out, the CLID goes out as her phone number.  Now if she calls out and the CLID is in fact her phone number, now she conferences in another number, the CLID is that of another phone number at her location?

I viewed the CPN substitution and that looks good, as does the telephone directory.

I don't even know where to start with this one?

Thank you,

I think that will depend on the source of the call.
If the 1st call is an outside inbound to her then the out bound call will show the outside caller ID.
But, *I think* if she places both calls it will show her caller ID.

I think the way around this is to put the 1st call on hold, dial the next call from the second line then press Add Held.

though I had her call me via outside line, then I had her call another line via outside, so she placed both calls?

I wasn't sure if it would do the same thing if she placed both calls.
That is a feature that can be turned off.
I believe there is a tick box in the PRI that says something like "Replace CLID for outbound calls"  (Doing this from memory so I probably don't have the verbiage correct.)  Changing it will reset the PRI so you may want to do that after hours.
There's something similar for SIP trunks.

If you turn this off then if you forward calls off prem then the CLID that will show on the person receiving the calls will be that of your companies and not of the original callers.

The only other option would be to place the 1st call on hold and dial from the second line.

What's the state of the "Display Held Call ID On Transfer" in that user's COS? Any change if you change that setting?
