Upgrading 4.1 SP2
« on: February 10, 2016, 03:32:36 PM »
Symptom
When using the software installer to upgrade a 4.1 sp2 load the upgrades stuck on "unable to retrieve the specific file"
Checking ftpserver logs and _swrev is the problem !
Using filezilla server.

Looking around i find in troubleshooting 4.x pdf it refers to Mitel Knowledge Base article. 07-4409-00026
Cant find it in mol.

Anyone got a solution, or have the pdf ?
Putty manual install, or ftp to controller, patching ?

Did you disable your firewall?

I would assume tis to be a software issue or user. I think the installer program chack connectivity to the ftp site before proceding further. on;t see this as a firewall issue myself.

Thanks for the inputs appreciated.
And continued work on the subject, seems to be arbitrarily unfortunately.
MCD is located on a different subnet.
Tried to push down an older software in FTP, 4.1> 7.0 SP 1 instead
for 7.2. No issue. I changed it back and tried again
then I got the warning incompatible sw loads of MIVB consoles and 5550 consoles.
As known.

Do not feel completely 100 when it is different subnets.
The computer's firewall is anyway not the cause, in my brain.

To be sure, I will ask the customer if it is possible to be on the same subnet. Which I think may be the cause.
In addition to the intermittent symptoms so I suspect that the upgrade may take longer
time when there are separate subnets, many phones will have new firmware ....

Do you share that view?
