HOTLINE Redial

we have a Front Lobby Phone that dials a Ring Group via the Hotline feature.  when the answering party hangs up, and the hotline phone does not hang up it redials the hotline.  is there a way to stop this?  we want it to hang up the line and not re-initiate a call until the phone goes off hook again.

Hotlines work by going off-hook. Is the remote end hanging up properly?

no the remote end does not hang up properly.  it appears that the answering side hangs up and the originating end is still holding on to the phone and then it starts ringing the answering end again.

Try enabling the COS option "Return Disconnect Tone When Far End Party Clears" for the Hotline extension, in newer software it is in the Fax group of COS options.

Might look at whether this is providing a loop current drop for positive disconnect. It would think that if it is, this scenario might occur.

this worked great - now the hotline phone does not ring the remote party once they have hung up.
