5000 intermittently not sending R message to T message
« on: December 09, 2015, 08:47:42 AM »
We have a customer that is intermittently having the Mitel 5000 not respond back to R messages on a TDM PRI. We have pulled a debug in the IAD and are showing the R message sent from the IAD to the Mitel. The Mitel does not respond and the IAD sends another R message. Once the second R message times out we get a 400 no response sip message sent back to our softswitch. The customer is able to powercycle the Mitel only to restore functionality. The customers vendor suggested just rebooting the Mitel every night to prevent this issue from occurring which seems more of a band-aid than an actual fix. Has anyone heard of this issue with a Mitel 5000 or have any suggestions?

mryoung,

Has the vendor verified what the 5000 is getting in its setup message when the IAD supposedly sends the R Message? They can see the PRI messaging if they go into the command line and setup the D-Channel Diagnostics to monitor it when the message is sent. They should then get a cause code if there is a problem with the message.

Thanks,

TE

Yes we have. We were informed by the vendor that Mitel was looking into the issue back in June. The customer is stating (take this with a grain of salt) that the vendor was informed the fix was a nightly reboot....
