Hello, sometimes when I modem into an sx2000, and do "where" cmd. it shows I am on the inactive plane. Is it possible to switch to the active plane? If so, how is it done? Thanks.

It depends on what port your modem is connected to. On the redundant controoler there are 2 connections and depending on what processor is active, one will be active and the other inactive.
You can connect the modem to a per node and it will always be on the active plane

That was what I wanted to hear. I thought that maybe there was a command to move to the active plane but couldn't find the command.
Now I will move the modem to one of the other ports, like where the maintenance console is connected to.J10

Yes, being on the inactive plane is best set for maintenance. For the everyday thing, having the modem on the active is best.
