Forwarding to Hunt Group
« on: July 31, 2015, 08:27:45 AM »
Hello

Could anyone tell me the best way to achieve the following:

An internal or DDI call is delivered directly to extn 1000
1000 doesn't answer after a predetermined amount of rings
Call bounces to 1001 then 1002 then 1003
If still unanswered it reverts to Extn 1000 VM

3300 MXE Running Release 8

Cheers!

Love to be proved wrong but don't think you can.; getting back to 1000 VM is going to be tricky.....

The issue here is that you can't reroute a rerouted call.

1st reroute = 1001
2nd reroute = 1003
(can't reroute from here to VM)

I think the solution to this is to step to exten 1003 and call forward it on RNA to VM.
This does mean that you can't reroute 1003 anywhere else.

Another solution is to put ext 1000 as a button on 1001 with a delay ring.
Then you can reroute this way:
1st reroute = 1003
2nd reroute = VM

This is looking bad!

Here's the next problem then, calls to other extns in the group would need to do the same thing.

Calls to 1001 if unanswered would ring to 1000 then 1002 then 1003 then VM
Calls to 1002 if unanswered would ring to 1000 then 1001 then 1003 then VM

If we forget about VM is it possible to re-route to a HG?

So I could setup multiple HG and re-route to those if the customer agrees to bin the VM at the end?

How about forwarding to cascading ring groups?

you can forward to a cascading ring group and then overflow out to another extension set to vm allways  (I think, just not 1000). Youd have to test that though. Then set up a key on 1000 that monitors the VM extension.

There is a way to get the call to go directly to the VM for 1000. You will need to create a Name Tag hunt  group extension #1000 then point the call to the hunt group and the call will go directly to voicemail. when you create the name tag hunt group you will need to use the # sign in front of the extension. In other words, the #1000 will be the extension of the NTHG you create and point it to VM then point the overflow or call rerouting to the #1000 the calls goes directly to VM. It have actually made this work before.

Not tried the named HG option for VM yet but I ended up creating a Cascading Ring Group for Every user and setting their Reroute First Alternative to it, which works fine!

Thanks for the help with this.

Would the re-route second alternative to the VM HG work to route calls to the users own VM Box??

Yes the call will route into the mailbox of the original extension dialed.
