activate call waiting
« on: February 24, 2015, 06:17:29 AM »
Dear All,

i want to activate call waiting for internal calls, it is activated for external calls, when i try to call busy extension it forward the call to the hunt group or get busy tone (depends if the user is part of a hunt group or not) and the other extension dont know that i am trying to call him or event didnt get message or call waiting tone,

I read about camp on but i think camp on is for external calls only, now the value of campon timer is 10 sec and also campom recall timer is 10 sec.

I believe that all you need to do is change the campon timer to '0' in the COS.

Its Blank it Ralph "0" will give problems according to the help file.

I believe the problem is either call re routing or call diversion which I postulated in another place. On internal calls that go to forward

When he gets busy he should activate the FAC for call waiting taking into account "Campon tone security can prevent users from hearing the campon or call waiting tone; therefore, if any party involved in the call has this option enabled, no campon tone is returned"

Blank disables call waiting.
Try setting it to 1.

Apologies Ralph  you are correct. Set to 0 or above for the auto camp on timer. However that is for non display sets only according to the help file and you sttill need to set a FAC key to get it to work

##If you intend to use Feature Access codes in Operation, assign the following codes in the Feature Access Codes form:
##Camp on - Setup (allows users to "camp-on" or wait on a busy station)
##Camp on - Retrieve (allows users to answer the camped on call. The previous call is automatically put on hold.)
##If you intend to use a feature key in Operation, program a Camp-on key in the Multiline Set Keys form or use Superkey (see Feature Keys for more information on Superkey programming).

What digit have you used for camp on in feature access codes?

What sets are you using?

Setr the recall timer to a longer period than the auto camp on timer.

With the 5320e you will use...

To Campon to a busy station:
 Press the I Will Wait softkey.

5304 will use the programmed key.

Have you still got the  two timers set the same?

"Automatic camp-on is only supported for phones without softkeys, ONS stations, and trunks."

Its not possible on sets with softkeys. That is from the help file.

Can I just get this clarified: does "automatic camp-on" mean the same thing as call waiting?

What I would normally expect is that an incoming call to a busy handset is alerted on the handset as a "call waiting" for a short period to give the handset user the opportunity to place his 1st call on hold and answer the 2nd call.

Are we saying this is not possible in an environment with 5300-series handsets using MiCollab?

Auto campon works on 53XX phones and it is the same as call waiting.
I never use it.   I generally put additional lines on the phone and then forward to them on a busy condition.

One thing I'm not sure about is what timers come into play after it camps on.
It seems to me, if I remember correctly, that once it camps on then it never forwards on RNA.  (-not sure about that, I'm that old man CRS syndrome.)
