Dropped Calls
« on: July 09, 2015, 11:09:19 AM »
Hello,

I have a site that's dropped a few calls once while calling an 800 number and once while calling a local call. The 800 number call would of used our PRI at another site and the local call would use the local trunks. When I went through the logs at that time I get the following message under software logs. I cannot find a LS Trunk 0,0. I'm not sure this is related to the dropped calls are not. What's the best way to troubleshoot a dropped call on local lines?

thanks

Source      CLSMeasureLSTrunkSettings::GetLSPortDefaultCoefficients()
Description      impedance setting (value: 0) for LS Trunk(0, 0) does not match the recommended one (value: 1)
Module      Main
File Name and Line Number      CLSMeasureLSTrunkSettings.cpp;1416

I don't think that's it.

We'll need to find which direction the disconnect came from.
To do that be sure your SMDR is on and then do the following:

Quote
The command on the SX2000 maintenance terminal (Telnet port 23) to enable/disable the indicator is:
 lldcli smdr_disc [ on | off ].

Do not use brackets or pipes around "on" or "off" (see sample below).

When on, < or > will appear in the 1st position in the SMDR when the call is less than 5 minutes in length.

<   indicates we, the pbx, cleared the call
>   indicates the far end cleared the call.

That will show you if the call was dropped by the carrier or by the PBX.

Ralph,

Does turning this on tax the PBX box anymore than usual and should this be turned on for best practice if it doesn't tax the system?

Thanks,

It won't affect call processing however the command does not survive a reboot.
If you want to leave it on then every time it reboots you'll need to reactivate.
