Call Recording Software
« on: June 25, 2015, 08:30:58 AM »
Hello,

We've got a 3300 and we need to get some call recording software that isn't hugely expensive - has anyone got any suggestions or advice?

Thanks
Jeremy

You won't get much cheaper than Wireshark and saving RTP streams.  :P

If you want something professional, I have a couple of customers using OAISYS and they seem to be getting what they need from it. I have another customer using Carina Recorder, and they are also happy.

Funnily enough I have just been doing a bit of research on Oreka (Free Open Source)
http://oreka.sourceforge.net/

It even has Mitel options in its config.xml for SMDR to try and match call info.

I have not tried it lately but will hopefully have a look in the coming weeks.

Oreka may be worth checking out but make a note that the last update appears to have been in 2013.

If you need call recording for compliance reasons I'd go with a professional system such as Oaisys or Redbox.

Hi Jeremy,

Our organisation is based in the UK and we use Redbox Recorder. We purchase licenses per handset that requires recording and a high spec PC running on the network does all the recording.

Have had no issues with the system/software.

Hope this helps

We use and love oaisys which is now owned by Mitel but isn't the cheapest. But it works very well. Love the admin and user interface too!!
