Couple Questions/ Caller ID/ Line Key/ Message Waiting Key
« on: June 03, 2015, 08:57:35 PM »
Good Evening -

I'm still relatively new to this system so I appreciate your help with three issues I seem to not be able to resolve.

First, the "line" key or "directory" key is only lighting orange. It won't light green on any telephones when the user picks up the set. I know there is a setting for this, but for the life of me I can not find it. I've tried google and nothing comes up about this topic.

Second, the message waiting key is not ringing to the voicemail system. You must lift the handset or dial the "500" to get to the voicemail system. Is there a way to program this key to connect to the voicemail system?

And lastly, Caller Id. THIS has been the being of my existence. I have tried everything and it is still just displaying the Trunk label.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Chris

Firstly what level of software are you running?

Next try the following:

1 - COS Option - Multi-Color LED Support (This is where you can enable/disable the green LED)
2 - Depending on software level you go to the 'Call Coverage' form and ensure that your voicemail number is set.
3 - Can you give more info on your trunks type. SIP/PRI/BRI/Analogue

sarnold - I am currently running 9.0. and it is an analog trunk. The caller ID is coming from the service provider because it shows through their app on my iPhone but it is not going through to the system. I will try the COS Option for the line appearance keys and the Call Coverage option for the voicemail button and post back. Thank you for your response - I really appreciate it!

The COS of the trunk has to have Caller ID Delivery Trunk enabled.  (Not sure of the exact name here)

Release 9 won't have call coverage.
To get the voicemail you must lift the handset and press the flashing envelope, if there is no MWI then you must dial the VM Pilot number.

Thank you both for your help with these questions.

In working with the COS it defaults to COS 1 for Trunk Assignment and Set Assignment. Should I change a COS for trunks to be assigned to another COS number (2, 3, 4, etc)?

Thank you for being patient with me. I am really wet behind the ears with this.

Probably not a good idea to have the same COS for Trunks and Sets.
I would copy/create a new COS for sets and even another one to test with.

Thank you.

Do you think it would be beneficial to upgrade to a MCD release?

If so,now would I do it?

It's always beneficial as there are always new features added. Whether or not it is feasible...

I would recommend that you get a professional to do it. There could be things like memory upgrade, software assurance fees etc... that need to be looked at.

Definitely not something that a novice should be doing.

Thank you again for your help.

Sorry to be dense, but is the multi color led in another form of the system? I can't find it? Or is it not comparable with the 3300 v.9.0?

Also, the MWI button used to call into the VM system until we did a reset. Is there a place to reprogram?

Thanks Again,
Chris
