PS-1 Cost
« on: May 21, 2015, 09:09:08 AM »
Does anyone know the going rate for a PS-1 upgrade?  Got a quote from our supplier in the UK but just wanted to check why it's so expensive.....It's more than a new system  :-\

b19rro,

Unfortunately, there are a few factors involved in the pricing scheme and it is different for each vendor due to their discount from Mitel. It also depends on what exactly is being sold as well since if you only have a base system they may be trying to install a PEM [Processor Expansion Module] as well, and then there is the cost of doing the work and possibly upgrading the compact flash depending on the software version you are on. Without knowing your system and what is being sold it would be difficult to explain the price of the cost they are quoting you.

If I were you I would have the do a break down of the cost so you can do a better analysis of what you are actually paying for. Why are you going to upgrade to the PS-1 in the first place? Is this upgrade really necessary or is it to fix a problem?

Personally, I don't think anyone other than your vendor will really be able to help you with this unless there is a competitor in the area you can get a quote from for the .
exact same work and equipment
Sorry,

TE

Haven't got access to Sales Workbench at the minute but i'm sure a PS-1 is about £5k, post up the pricing and i'll let you know if you are being ripped off.

MSRP is about 3 times the cost of the base system

PS-1 is getting virtualized so I'd hang fire.

I already have the image - it should be released in 6.1

That's quick, i've not seen a roadmap for this product for a while now, was starting to think there wasn't one!

I'd prefer it if the whole thing could be virtualised, not just the PS-1.

As would i! It would make life a lot easier for engineers. There is SIP ACD functionality in 6.1 so it could be in the pipeline to virtualize it!
