T1 setup
« on: March 17, 2010, 06:58:50 AM »
I have a customer with 4 T1's for their long distance and I am trying to upgrade them from a SX-200 EL to a 3300. I was attempting to connect on of the T1s for testing and can get it to sync and give a nice green light but I get a fast busy return. What I find wierd is that if you wait about five sec then it will dial the number and both parties hear the fast busy. I never get any ring back at all. I don't have much experience with T1 config, the PRI they have was a cake walk but the T1s are giving me fits. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should be looking at?

Forgot to include: MCD 4.0 SP2 on MXe with embedded T1 cards, set up as Digital E&M trunks.

What to you see if you stat the circ?  All Idle?

My first stab at this would be to think that there aren't any DSPs avail for going from TDM to IP.  You can test that theory by trying an analog phone.  If it works then it's a DSP issue.

yeah, my E2T card didn't load the boot file. That is fixed and now all I can make the T1s do is reply with an error or "OUT OF SERVICE."

Any suggestions on this?

I have tried Digital DID and Digital E&M Trunks with no success.

Be sure your T1 it self is up.   Do a "DTS read <t1 plid> last 10" to see whats happened the last 10 hours.

What did your carrier program the T1 channels as?  DID, E&M, Wink start, immediate start?   You'll need to know what they think they have it programmed as.

I pulled an extreme stupid, in all of my programming and tearing out I forgot to put the freaking trunks in the trunk group. I ran across it while on the phone with support, talk about embarrassing.
