MCD 4.1
« on: February 18, 2010, 03:41:20 PM »
Has anyone installed MCD 4.1 yet? If so is it stable, or close to it? I am downloading now for my lab controller to see what has changed and all of that good stuff.

We're running it on our in-house CX. Don't have any issues as of yet. It is really different.

I'm actually trying to get my training updates as I write this.   What a *Pain* it's turned out to be just to get signed up!
Training website = very difficult to work with.
Sometimes you can find things and other times you can't.  Log out and back in and suprise! there it is again.   Still can't do anything with it since it bombs out when loading.....

Sense my frustration?????

Ralph

Whats really going to drive you crazy is that there is a basic and an advanced test. They're the same reading material, and the advanced test was two questions longer than the basic. (With the other 31 questions being the exact same between the two.)

I only took the advanced. Made it much faster.

I loaded the new software on one of my test controllers and so far I really like the new interface. Should make management much easier. I think the tabbed view in the user config is the best feature they added. No more switching between forms and all of the keys show up (at least they did on the 5330 I looked at) on one page!

The tabbed view is awesome. Whats going to take me some time to adjust to, is the idea that forms aren't repeated under different headings. I've been doing a lot of ARS changes lately, and having the COR Group form under the ARS is something I became accustomed to. Now, its just under System Options and no where else. I'm sure to a new person, it'll make sense and be ok, but I've basically had form locations memorized for the most part, and have to actually look for them now....

How are your experiences with this new release? Are there many fixes and changes made since MCD 4.0?

I am loving MCD 4.1, it keeps on getting better and better. I am running 4.1 on some production systems with no problems.

Being able to program a phone in one section via the tab view is a great feature.  Still waiting on install wizards myself.

Can you point towards the right location of it? I do not see it in the software downloads

I am lookig forward to getting my hands on 4.1. I have not looked at it yet, but from what I have read it sounds a whole bunch more better than just 4.0.

I share your frustration Ralph. Well I have never taken a class yet and I share your frustration.

Bluewhite, I had memorized the location of forms as well, but as long as I do not have to switch back between Admin and Sys Config I will be a happy camper! I think 50% of my time is spent navigating! :D
