"Line in Use" Trying to swap out phones
« on: May 08, 2015, 01:54:36 PM »
Hello Mitel Techs!
We've got a customer that has a bad phone and we're wanting to swap it out with another phone, however I've discovered that there is a key (Message Waiting Indicator) that shows as a "Line in Use" and it won't let me clear the key. I have checked the voicemail and there is no messages in there. Any ideas on how to go about deleting the key off of this phone so I can swap the phone out?

Thanks,
-Iron

I can't think of a reason why you have to clear any keys to swap out a phone. If it's a digital phone, put the new phone in place and all the keys remain the same. If it's an IP phone, register the new phone and it will pick up all the same info as the old phone.

It may not let you delete the MAC if it's got a light message waiting key.
And you can't delete the key if it's lit.

Does the phone work at all?
Any chance you can fire it up and see where it rings to?

If not, it may be possible to program the same button on another phone and try to clear it that way.
You may have to light it once to get it started but then you should be able to clear it.
