3300 Sip Trunks ?
« on: February 13, 2015, 12:49:12 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

I'm noob to sip. Trying to set up some sip apps on cellphones to use thru our wireless.

I haven't purchased sip trunks for my 3300 yet, someone asked me if a sip trunk will provide single or multiple connections?

I have no idea, so I thought I'd ask.   Thanks !

Each SIP trunk can handle X number of simultaneous calls.  X being what you are licensed for and what the SIP provider is give you.  (They need to match).

What apps are you trying to use via your cell phones?   Are you sure you need trunks and not user licenses?

We were thinking about X-lite app or similar.

We have staff that roam our facility and we call a Mitel number that speed dials the cell phone to contact them. If we used a sip app on the cell phone and if that worked out well, we could just contact them within our service and not pay for the cell service.

Also, portable sip phones could be a solution.

I've used a Bria app on my cell phone.   You need a user license for that, not SIP trunk.

You program it like an extension.
