Just a reminder that enabling Internal (IC) SYSTEM FORWARDING on an endpoint will automatically remove HANDSFREE for that endpoint.

Would this remove hands-free completely or just hands-free calls?

Can I still press the speaker to talk to someone after it rings?
or can I press the speaker button to answer a call?

Only1catar,

It would only stop the Hands-free feature from auto answering IC calls not the ability to manual answer or initiate calls with the speaker. Also it would only affect the phone that has IC Calls within its forwarding path.

Thanks,

TE

Thanks - I thought so - but wanted to be sure...

I *think* this is the same subject
I am trying to setup call routing as opposed to auto attendant - but I think they both essentially can do the same job for the way we have it setup:

I have this setup, but what is happening is on timeout the extension phone (121) kicks back to the application(2541)...
Or when the extension is selected as a transfer option - it does not go to voice mail, but goes back to the application(2541)

phone line-94259>>trunk-92003>>calling group-2909>>application-2541>>timeout-121(ext)

I know I must have a "loop" somewhere but I can't see it...

Sounds like x121 has no/invalid system forwarding.
1. Does x121 have a Forwarding Path with VM Application as the destination?
2. Is Fwd Call Type - CO Transfer/AA/VM - set to "Yes"?
3. Is System Forwarding set to "Yes" in x121's Flags?

I tried to compare settings with phone 122 and 123 as 123 has a similar setup with a different phone line.
I could find no difference until your message - BIG Thanks! (detail below if anyone finds it useful)

Here are the discussed settings:

1). Does x121 have a Forwarding Path with VM Application as the destination?

5000CP>System>Devices>Phones>122>Forwarding Paths
Path Description
1-- --TO VM

2). Is Fwd Call Type - CO Transfer/AA/VM - set to "Yes"?
Where is this (For learning purposes)

3). Is System Forwarding set to "Yes" in x121's Flags?
System Forwarding = No (This was my Problem)

Only1catar,

What you are looking for is inside the phones programming.

System > Devices and Feature Codes > Phones > {Extension} > Forwarding Path #

This will provide you the following information:

Forwarding Paths 1 <-- What System Forwarding path is used [System > Phone Related Information > System Forwarding Paths]

Ring Principle Once <-- Are we only ringing the device of each Forwarding Path [Maximum of 4 Paths] one time before following the System Forwarding Path or do we follow the System Forward Initiate and Advance Timers

Station - Busy  <-- Does this Forwarding Path work for a Busy Device
Station - DND  <-- Does this Forwarding Path work for a Device in DND
Station - No Answer  <-- Does this Forwarding Path work on a No Answer Condition
Station - Immediate  <-- Does this Forwarding Path initiate Immediately without ringing the device

System - Day Mode  <-- Does this path work in Day Mode
System - Night Mode  <-- Does this path work in Night Mode

Fwd Call Type - Call Routing Table <-- Does this path work for calls that are routed directly from a Call Routing Table
Fwd Call Type - CO Ring-In  <-- Does this path work for calls that are routed from a CO Trunk or Group
Fwd Call Type - Co Transfer/AA/VM  <-- Does this path work for Calls Transfered from another Device or Application or Voice Mail
Fwd Call Type - CO Recall  <-- Does this path work for calls that Recall back from being transfered to ring to another device and not answered
Fwd Call Type - DISA  <-- Does this path work for calls that come through DISA
Fwd Call Type - IC Calls  <-- Does this path work for Intercom Calls {IC}.

So this seems to be a sticking point for some people so it is best to get this out there as some basic information.

So a forwarding path as you can see actually has some varied logic to it that allows us to transfers calls based on conditions. There can only be three forwarding paths per device so try to group as much together as you can.

Thanks,

TE

Set the following options in the Class of Service of the originating and terminating devices:
Direct Voice Call Allowed - set to Yes to allow a telephone or console to initiate a call using the Direct Voice Call feature.
Direct Voice Call: Accept - set to Yes to allow a telephone to receive a Direct Voice Call.
Direct Voice Call: Maximize Volume - set to Yes to present Direct Voice Call at maximum volume or No to use current volume setting at the receiving telephone.
Program a feature access code for Direct Voice Call in the Feature Access Codes form.

Operation
Dial the Direct Voice Call feature access code.

Good detail, but perhaps I am in the wrong section? I followed a link under the 5000 series.
I am looking under this path, and I see where to add a class, but the ones described are not listed:

500 CP>> System>> Devices>> Phones>> 102>> Class>> Day>> (Empty)
- Right Click add to list (ARS or Class of Service)
(Class of Service has 3-16 with 10-16 empty)

5000 CP>> System>> Devices>> Phones>> 102>> Forwarding Paths>> 1

Double click the Forwarding Path in the right payne, and you will see the options.
