Programming key maps in the 3300
« on: January 03, 2015, 05:49:49 PM »
It has been a few years since we have touched a 3300. Seen to be having a problem programing the key maps. Have done several 5000 with no issues. But been banging our head against a wall.....

What are you trying to achieve with the keys?

Depending on the software level its often best to set up the keys with the Web interface although you need the full web program to set up certain functions like DSS/BLF keys in later software.

Trying to set the up system wide. I know that on the 5000 you can set up a key map and assign it to a group. But having a hard time on the 3300.

Key programming on the 5000 and the 3300 is very different. In a 3300, there is not "keymap" as the 5000. Each key must be programmed one by one on each extension. Note that you can copy keys from one extension to another.

I think what you are referring do is the User Roles which allow you to build a template.  Then the role can be applied to the ext. I guess it is similar to the Mitel 5000 keymaps

Maybe I'm wrong... To the best of my knowledge, user roles are applied only when you create an extension. You cannot apply a user role to an existing user. You would have to manually edit keys for this user.
