Message Print - SIP Debug Headers
« on: December 03, 2014, 02:03:30 PM »
Hello everyone,

On one of our Mitel 5000 systems we had issues years ago that the vendor had to troubleshoot when the system was first installed.  They must have turned on some sort of SIP debugging, and our Message Print Queue is filled with these SIP debug or header logs.  Anyone know where I could look to turn this off, so when we have an issue (like this morning) I can see something useful when downloading the logs?

I found that the setting System > Maintenance > Message Print > Print Expanded Message Print was turned on, so I turned that off, but the SIP headers are still coming.  They look like this:

-15:931- 11:19 12-03 *** SIP RX ['2849'-'@3PP6']: SIP/2.0 200 OK
Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.102.10:5060;branch=z9hG4bK876817249-5909

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Spydre13,

First of all set the Expanded Message Print back to yes it is very useful in troubleshooting. Next go to you System > Devices and Feature Codes > Trunks and see ID the CP History is set Full History for any SIP Trunks you have. For any that are set them to either No History or Headers Only.

Thanks,

TE

I can turn it back on.  I just compared it to all of our other sites, and they all had it off, so I thought I'd try that.

Next go to you System > Devices and Feature Codes > Trunks and see ID the CP History is set Full History for any SIP Trunks you have. For any that are set them to either No History or Headers Only.

We don't have SIP trunks, but we do have a SIP voicemail (NuPoint).  I think you pointed me in the right direction though.  I had to turn on On-Line Monitor again, and then under System -> Devices and Feature Codes -> SIP Peers there was another section "General Configuration".  In there, "SIP Message Output Format" was set to "Full", so I'll try setting that to "None" for now.

Thanks!

Just an update, actually that setting didn't stop the output in the Message Print Queue.  I had to also go to System -> Devices and Feature Codes -> SIP Peers -> SIP Voice Mails -> P9001 -> Configuration and also set "SIP Message Output Format" to "None" there.

Spyder13,

Wow, you have a NuPoint on a 5000; what was the need that drove that sale?

Thanks,

TE
