Dialed Message Waiting
« on: October 20, 2014, 11:50:09 AM »
I have a set with the feature dialed message waiting and her lamp keeps flashing. In the help file it says
"When you receive a message waiting indication, call your message taker to accept the message."
I'm wondering if the message taker is the same number as normal voicemail because when she goes into voicemail there's no messages and this is not a call me back where you can delete the message from the phone to stop the blinking.

Thanks,

The most common cause for this is another phone calling that extension and pressing the msg button while the phone is either ringing or in a busy state.
That will light the light.
If you go off hook and press the msg button it should ring the phone that did it.  As soon as the phone goes out it will turn off the lamp.

Here's an article I wrote some time ago to deal with this issue:  www.mitelforums.com/articles/vm-light-flashing.php

I'm waiting to hear back from the end user but I'm fairly certain when she pushes the message button it takes her to voicemail. It doesn't ring to another set.

I am having the same issue, but when i press the message button (envelope key) it give the option to read the message. I press it, and it says to call back NNNNN <--- this number being a member of the hunt group set up for our first voicemail mas (using 4 separate mas's at the moment for our voicemails). If I select "read" then "erase" the light goes out... UNTIL the next time this user gets called. Then the same call me back message returns. Strange thing about this is... Of all 4 mas's and setup, I have stare/compared and all 4 are set same. But, ONLY the first one is handing the users on it, the callme back message. Any help with this? Or will it require a complete kill/rebuild?

I suspect that the msg waiting port is not in the VM  hunt group with the rest of the ports.

How is the Message indication group differentiated? I have found the Hunt group of the vmail ports, but there is an "always" rerouting rule set for the Vmail indication to dial the vmail hunt. Im not sure if that is the actual message indication number, so i guess i just need some direction as to where i can find the number that actuates the call me back/message waiting indication.
** On a side note does ONS CLASS/ClIP: MSG wait Activate/deactive have any bearing on call me back message in vmail? Im getting more confused by the minute. :)

Ah.
You may want to refer your question to the Applications section of the forum.
