Contact Centre Client Softphone speed dials

Hey All,

Quick question for you......

I have a customer who uses the Contact Centre Client Softphone.  Whilst on a call, they can open the dial pad and dial specific codes to enable or disable a third party recording application.  To make it easier for the users, they are trying to program these codes as soft phone speed dials (On the soft phone config tab of the contact centre client.).  However when on a call, pressing these keys has no effect, as if no key strokes are being recognised.

Am I right in assuming that during a call, these softphone speed dials cannot be accessed?  Is there a way to do this without having to open the dial pad and keying the codes?
